Above average spy-thriller, but only just and only because of Angelina Jolie. She's not the greatest actress in the world, but she knows how to be badass. Salt is pretty predictable, and the twists are not really imaginative. Look elsewhere if you want something to stretch your mind with. It's entertaining enough but gets decidedly more boring on the second rewatch...
This is such a bad movie. If Angelina would fight for food it would make more sense...

Objectively, it’s not a jaw dropping movie, but really when are spy thriller movies ever? This is the spiritual predecessor to Atomic Blonde and it got a lot less attention than Atomic Blonde did, because perhaps it was ahead of its time. It’s a lot less stylish, sexy and slick as Atomic Blonde, while Salt is more Bourne-esque in style and tone.
Does this movie pass the Bechdel test? Probably not, but that’s okay because it features Angelina Jolie being the absolute badass that she is in taking control of her own fate and subverting the dictatorial powers that seek to control her.
While this probably isn’t the best movie considering the current political atmosphere, it’s still a fantastic spy movie and a great action role for Angelina Jolie. Evelyn Salt is unrelenting and unforgiving and I really freaking love her. It’s so satisfying to see a female spy know exactly what she’s doing and there is no exposition or explaining of why she’s doing the things she’s doing. I wish we would get a Salt 2, but it’s been 8 years now and so unfortunately it probably will never happen.
Good action-thriller. Well worth the watch.
This is an ok movie. Not close to Jason Bourne but enjoyable with an easily followed plot. Give it a try if you like spy thrillers and need a little less intensity than the Bourne series.

An entertaining movie with some predictable twists. Not amazing, but secretly hoping for a sequel.

I quite liked the Manchurian Candidate but the premise was the only good part of this stinker of a film... *sigh.
Good, not great. Not a big Jolie fan but she's decent in this. And I love Liev Schreiber, he's pretty good in this as is Chiwetel Ejiofor. Fast paced, plenty of action. Couple of plot holes tho, mainly, Jolie breaking into the president's totally and completely safe bunker? Come on, I would hope that it wouldn't be as easy as both Jolie and, near the end, the cops, make it!
Overall, a decent way to waste a couple of hours but I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it again.
Angelina Jolie takes off her lingerie briefs to cover CCTV cam and then proceeds to engineer a bazooka from parts of an office chair and a fire extinguisher. That's how ridiculous action set pieces are in this movie.
Salt is trying to be a serious spy movie but action set pieces such as the one mentioned above are creating a constant dissonance with some of the more serious undertones (such as the submarine drowning scene, where AJ watches someone very close to her die a torturous death).
Daniel Olbrychski is awesome and has earned this movie an additional half-star from me.
Oh, and the extended cut ending should be in the movie and be the "canon" one. It has so much more flavour and personality to it. Don't know why they went for the milder one...

Salt is a good action thriller with a compelling plot and a standout performance from Angelina Jolie. The film's twists and turns keep you engaged, and Jolie's portrayal of the enigmatic and deadly CIA agent is both convincing and thrilling. While the film may not necessarily break new ground in terms of the spy thriller genre, it's still an entertaining watch that delivers on the action and suspense.

I remember seeing this movie in theaters a long time ago and thought it was a pretty good film... but I must’ve been on of some kind narcotic at the time.
It was an alright movie. Nothing too exceptional. The story was very predictable once you're in the groove watching it and knowing what's going on. I didn't have that feeling of wanting to rewatch it someday when the movie was over, and I didn't have that feeling of really enjoying what I just watched. I just had that feeling of complete nonchalance. And I wouldn't consider this a movie I'd end up recommending to someone to give a watch.
This movie was low on sodium.
The sad part about this film is that it had potential. The cast is great and I thought the premise was fantastic as well. The problem is that they tried to turn the main character (Angelina Jolie) and turn her into Jason Bourne. It didn't need to be and it only took away from the plot.

A really exciting, fast-moving action flick with a brilliant Angeline Jolie. The movie wouldn't be the same without her. Even though I did not understand all the aspects of the story (sometimes during the film you really don't know what to believe), at the end the pieces are coming together nicely.
What is really obvious for me is that this film clearly was meant to be the start of maybe a trilogy or whole franchise. Now, seven years after this movie's release, we still don't have a new installment, which is very unfortunate in my opinion.
Overall I really liked this movie and still hope there will be SALT 2 with Angeline Jolie in the near future.
I always like action movies and with Angelina Jolie as the lead character it couldn't go wrong ... I'd recommend this to someone who wants to see an awesome woman kick ass without caring much about a plausible plot!!
Salt is just a typical action movie. Its premise has been done before. Films like this make you understand why cinematic universes are such a craze right now. Jolie is fine but I really didn't care about anything that was going on in this movie.
If you like action movies, give Salt a go. Angelina won't disappoint.
Weird, I didn't like Evelyn at first but after 45 minutes I liked her and the movie. From almost quitting the movie and rate 4 or so to a solid 8. That's a first.
I like this movie, nothing too special just easy and fun to watch.
Of course I fell for the bad guy. I mean, how can you not fall for Liev?? So convincing as the friend, the good guy, dutiful and everything - and yet bad. Ain't that everything a girl wants? XD

it leaves material for a sequel and in my perspective could be great with a good screenplayer.
Was expecting a dry political thriller, instead got a kick ass action movie. Pleasantly surprised.
