Seberg 2019

A missed opportunity to approach a biographical aspect from the perspective of a nightmare caused by anti-communist obsession. But it works neither as a psychological thriller nor as a biopic, it has a TV movie aspect that provokes rejection and builds caricatures instead of characters. Kristen Stewart does an appropriate composition of the character, but the languid script doesn't allow her to develop it.

The story is interesting, Stewart is amazing & cinematography is beautiful.
The movie could have been longer, but my biggest complaint is that the only Black characters in the movie are only there to move the story along, and it has a "tokenism" feel to it. Yes, it's a movie about Seberg, but given how important the civil rights movement was/is, I don't see why Mackie's and Beetz's characters couldn't have been more fleshed out.

Seberg is a very interesting movie about the late actress Jean Seberg who got involved in the civil rights movement of the 70s. The film shows how the FBI investigated her and tried to denounce her in the public eye. Kristen Stewart plays her role very effortlessly and it‘s a real treat to watch her. Also in general the movie looks great and is quite entertaining.

Its not a perfect film - I'm sure more needed to be said about Seberg - but the story is interesting, and Stewart portrays the actress well.

Kristen Stewart is superbly cast as doomed Jean Seberg in this clunky cliched drama. Jack O’Connell like the rest of the cast, manages to deliver from a weak script. But whenever Stewart is offscreen the film loses direction.
What I loved about this film was the attention to detail, the costumes and set pieces were very eye pleasing and the use of Jeans early film footage was a nice touch.
