I thought this was an amazing movie. It's called slow, but I don't think it's ever a dull movie. Really good story in my opinion.
While this isn't his best film by a mile I don't get why Steve Carrel doesn't get the recognition for being a very good dramatic actor. So many of his works have been under-appreciated - The Way, Way Back, Foxcatcher, and The Morning Show come to mind. Anyway, this film took a while to get to me but eventually it won me over. At first there wasn't a ton of chemistry between he and Keira Knightly but it later became clear that this was by design. The last third of the movie was actually very good and overall it was - despite the backdrop - an enjoyable movie.

Sweet and charming movie, lovable protagonists and nice supporting cast in little cameos (hello, president Bartlet). Just the kind of relaxing yet not Trivial-All-Stereotypes-And-Tropes-Bad-Script-Film.
I'm struggling so hard to find them lately, I get so annoyed when I wanna chill and the feel good movie is bad... ok lowering expectations (not expecting a great movie), but you can make a nice flick without all the usual banal, overused lines and characters. Or at least: there's ways and ways to do so, and actors and actors to portray it. And these 2 here bring it home greatly!
Maybe I would just have preferred more truth to the title and them staying friends without the romance. I think there are so many more possibilities to explore in such a way, without the safety net of the couple moments.
A little too cheesy finale.
p.s. I really need to find a KeiraKnightley-ish girlfriend. Even without ends of the world approaching

I didn't read or watch anything story related so the story felt a little more natural than average romantic drama and also there are some movies that every time you watch you feel something different and I think this is one of them, it will age with you.
Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is a dark romantic comedy with heart. Steve Carell and Keira Knightley star in this unconventional tale and give excellent performances. And the script is especially well-written, artfully balancing the comedic and tragic tones of the film. Yet within the satire about how we face life and death there’s hope. Entertaining and fun, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is a smart, thought-provoking black comedy that has a unique charm and beauty.
Nice movie, solid from the beginning to the end.
Weakest story ever. Great idea but then.... Nothing. Side story here, side story there and then done. Even the love story was like ohhh it could happen and maybe and oh. Happened.

In my view, this is a good mix between The Invention of Lying (2009) and God Bless America (2012).
The story is pretty good - it throws out of the window some of the conceptions we have about the world (like women being picky or everyone gunning for a CFO position). And it's kinda unexpected that the world really ends (which is good) so you don't have to see last minute salvations - Armageddon anyone?
8/10 overall.
a movie about a man who falls in love with a woman 20 years younger than him. thats the plot. ups i forgot, they had only 20 days before the world ends. i found it quite boring, sorry

This was much more pleasant and endearing to watch than I thought it would be. While sad, I found myself relating to these 2 characters and now will be thinking on if I will survive it or just let it take me.
I guess I just wasn't in a mood. I was slow, predictable, without a charm.
This movie is garbage. Slow, unrealistic, not romantic, not funny at all. Just awful all around.
