This is a really sweet movie. Heartfelt and nice.
One of the better gay movies out there, definitely one of my faves!
A simple story well executed by a cast with chemistry. A beautiful soundtrack, especially the songs by Shane Mack, that add so much to the emotional ebb and flow of the movie. A few technical issues are apparent but this remains a capsule of pure magic to this day. Tina Holmes is outstanding in her role, pivotal really, but this is still all about Shaun and Zach!
Great movie about how real live can be
We have to shout out for this movie: it's a beautiful ending for a queer family arrangement. It's sweet, it's cheesy and it follows a classic romantic-movie-101 script. Nowadays, many of us are discussing whether it's really necessary to romanticize these heteronormative constructions and try to incorporate them into our lifestyles. Still, it was 2007. This was already revolutionary enough for a time when most of the gay centered films ended up in tragedies, heartbreak, AIDS, murder or anything worse. Shelter is a fair film by smaller producers with cozy atmosphere. Acting is not great, but it's not THAT bad either (sometimes it actually is).
My favorite movie. Heaven is a place on earth with you <3
