Harrison Ford does what Harrison Ford does best...crash planes.
Sorry...had to do it.
Anyway...Six Days, Seven Nights.
Nothing overly bad about it, but nothing all that good either. Pretty predictable and bog-standard romcom in many ways. Decent acting all around, except Schwimmer, but that was expected. Six Days, Seven Nights is not among Reitmans best films, but it's decent enough. Just don't expect to remember much of it a few days from now...these things works like teflon on the brain.
A lovely movie. Lots of charisma. Well worth the watch.l
Still really enjoyable. I can't really put my finger on what makes it work, it just does. Probably my favourite romcom.
Like Jim222001, this is a guilty pleasure of mine. Overall a cheesy story, but the chemistry between Ford and Heche make for great moments. I love watching this flick. It's a good time, romantic comedy the likes of which we don't get much of anymore.
This has always been a guilty pleasure for me. There's nothing terribly great about it. While David Schwimmer seems to think he's in a Friends episode as Ross. Yet I love it and could watch it right now if it was on.
The pirates subplot was considered silly by critics like Siskel & Ebert. They may not go “argh” but there’s people like this out there. Who harass or kill other boaters for money and other valuables.
So I never found the pirates part silly since it’s not like they were supposed to be old fashioned pirates. Plus the Harrison Ford and Anne Heche chemistry was good.
Not the worst romcom but there's really nothing to set it apart except Harrison Ford and Working Girl was his best romcom followed by the Sabrina remake.

Not a fan of romantic comedies but I love the goofiness of Heche teamed with the grumpy, sexy bad "boy" image of Ford. An interesting pair and enjoyable to watch.
