Have always been a fan of Brit Marling yet never got around to seeing this one. It's incredibly slow during the middle half, but it's quite short and the climax sneaks up on you and is worth the wait. A shining example of less is more done right. I wanted to give this a 6 at best, but for some reason they won me over w the ending. It'll be polarizing though. 6.7
A very slow, unusual journey and a good indi beginning to a film making career for the team Batmanglij and Marling. This is not a fast action thriller but a slow burning mystery which may not have an ending you will like. (Just saying.) I found it intriguing but ponderous and give it a 7 (good) out of 10. Surprisingly, I actually like this a lot better than Another Earth. I have to say my jaw dropped out of of confusion but after reading the "theories" in IMDB, it can actually make a lot of sense. Definitely looking forward and hoping for a sequel.
Interesting film, quite thoughtful, and strange.
It had the potential to be truly amazing, but didnt quite feel like the writers knew what to do with it, or that it was left deliberately vague for the Donnie Darko effect of the audience writing epic essays about what TRULY happened.
