Spider-Man: Homecoming 2017

Great Spiderman movie and Tom Holland is a perfect fit for Peter Parker. Hearing the score as the movie began got my blood tingling, loved the remix.

Action packed and well done story with Michael Keaton as a fantastic villain to the friendly neighborhood Spiderman. And a great addition to the Avengers.

Terrific movie, one of the best Spiderman movies put on screen. Tom Holland was perfect in the part and the supporting cast were great. Loved the opening score, my spider sense tingled when I heard it! Often really funny and the high school scenes were top notch. Only downside was a rather weak villain with a character arc similar to a Spiderman villain we have seen before. Despite that, you will walk out of the cinema with a smile on your face, especially after the post credits scene. Brilliant!

Teenager angst movie with super hero as back drop. Best part of the film: May's reaction at the end. The rest is mediocre at best.

loading replies

What an excellent reboot! I've been a Spider-Man fan since I was a child in the eighties and I enjoyed this film very much. It's fresh and fast. The cast is great and they tell a classic Spidey story without going into origins once again. It reminded me of Brian Michael Bendis' Ultimate Spider-Man.

loading replies

Boring ... like the previous ones with Garfield. Next

loading replies

If i had money enough i would see this movie 10 times more on cinemas. Seriously, i loved it! Tom Holland is an amazing Spider-Man, Michael Keaton is an amazing Voulture and the supporting cast is also great. The screeplay is so awesome, very well written. Loved every second of it. Recommend.

I have a few mixed thoughts about this film. The cast was really good, but the movie was basically a rehashing of Spiderman 1's plot with the villain of the movie being the father of a prominent side-character. I think comedy is the new strain of these hero movies as there were so many jokes and the movie even ended with the worst one -- ending a sentence with a censored FUCK. (sigh) The self-actualisation scene was absolutely cringey as hell and it makes no sense that that one scene attributed to his refusal of the thing he wanted the entire time for like literally years.

I really liked how the opening theme was an orchestra play of the spiderman theme from the 19-whatever's cartoon. That was really cool. I'm confused about where this spiderman comes from as he can't shoot webs.

loading replies

Let's put it this way...

Gave me interest in a character that has failed to do so for a decade.

(I'm talking about Aunt May of course, have you seen how slamming Marisa Tomei is? Goddamn.)

loading replies

The first spider man so far. Without the vulture I'd consider it unwatchable.

loading replies

If this was re-written to be standalone, it would probably be the strongest Spiderman film. As it is, it struggles to thread itself into the MCU by both having Deus-ex-Ironman turnup, and simultaneously ignore spidey when he needs help, to ramp up tension.
It feels overly forced when it doesn't need to. By having Iron Man on "standby" there's little threat. By not having him help, there's little sense.

The film kinda just exists for the sake of pulling Spidey into the MCU. Though, I did feel him just turning up in Civil War worked fine; it didn't need another story to tell us how he became an Avenger.

loading replies

sometimes I think people just love everything that comes from marvel even it's just ok

loading replies

just another Marvel's crappy movie,

loading replies

I went In open minded even thought knowing the good reviews and ratings It got but It shot It's webs and they didn't stick for me, not saying that Tom holland did a bad Job has Spiderman, saying the film didn't give him Justice, like Andrew Garfield's Spiderman didn't give justice to the film because the film had a good kick and this film just didn't give me the same kick with It's poor starting and It's spider sense starts tingling half way through and again cheesy bad guy but other than that It wasn't a bad film, the humour was alright, effects were not bad, and it was watchable with It's action. Tobey all the way

loading replies

I don't know about this one. I was expecting a lot more and why the hell is it 130 mins long? The trailer looked very nice so I went to the cinema but I can't say I was satisfied. And also I don't like those repeating stupidities in movies like that. Imagine you are Tony Stark and you need to move all your the most precious stuff. So you load it up into the super secured plane and do what? Will you send this plane completely alone somewhere or will you send at least two iron mans with it to protect it in case of anything... And now guess what happened in this movie... That's why I can't go for more than 7 points. If Tony wouldn't be there I would definitely go for 6.

loading replies

This is the superhero for the Young Adult genre. Another cutesy Marvel movie. Formulaic. I'm surprised at how generic and boring the high school kids are. Giving this an extra star because of Michael Keaton.

loading replies

Once you accept that this Spider-Man is different (and not in a particularly bad way) to previous renditions and the idea of the character in your mind, you can accept that this is a pretty good movie. Maybe that's an easier sell these days in a "post-Spider-Verse world", where the thought of this as another different interpretation of Spider-Man is less shocking or restrictive.
Does Peter make some dumb mistakes in this movie? Yeah, sure. But I also think the movie does a good job of demonstrating that he's just a kid, who's had this power thrust upon him, and he's trying his best to do the most good with it.

60 | Jon Watts successfuly directed Peter Parker character in his film. Peter shown unmature on his role for Spider-Man. Tony Stark as his father figure bring more character development for Peter, so do Vulture. Spider-Man Homecoming has universal jokes but the side effects of that are sometimes undermined the plot itself. The scene when Liz's father know Peter Parker secret is the best part of this film.

I think the movie was well-made and fun. I watched it when I was really tired after hiking and enjoyed it quite much, especially the ending had a plot twist I didn't see coming at all.

loading replies

Pretty poor, barely salvaged by Michael Keaton's quietly menacing performance. I'd rather watch him as Batman again than this whiny kid.

I'll be honest..This movie was kinda bad. This kinda felt like an Awesomeness TV film but it just so happens to be that the male lead is actually spiderman. I would e enjoyed to see an origin sorry but I understand why they didn't because it's been done so many times. I also could've done without the romance because I literally did not give a shit about it and it didn't really contribute to the plot in anyway. I enjoyed Peter and Ned's friendship and really liked seeing their relationship. I do think this movie is really good in some aspects, but it couldve been better. finished this one at 8:19PM.

loading replies

Please don't ruin Spiderman by technology Mr Stark!!!

loading replies

It was pretty OK, I really enjoyed it but I had high hopes with this one and it sorta disappointed me.

loading replies

Cool to see a drastically different take on Spider-man compared to the last couple iterations.

I really like Tom Holland as Spider-man, and enjoy his take on the character. The movie has a good amount of serious, fun, and exciting mixed in. The biggest let down for me, is I really don't like the way they played out the Iron Man mentorship.

Overall though, one of the better movies in the MCU I've seen.

loading replies

Worst. Spider-Man. Ever.

Seriously. There is nothing more I can say to that.
I´ll let Cap sum it up instead: sometimes you wonder why you´ve waited so long for something so dissapointing

loading replies

It was better then the last ones from sony, but still weak, bit too heavy on the effects and techy stuff
Also the race thing in this movie is just ridiculous

loading replies

Well here goes. I did not like the movie. Out of all the Marvel movies, this was the weakest. Especially weaker than the two previous Spider-Man franchises. I did not want Marvel to go the DCU route and change the characters, especially Aunt May. The only people they correctly portrayed were Vulture and Peter. Why does Peter do all the Spider-Man stunts in a school which has cameras?? And why is Flash Thompson not a jock? Where's Spider-Man's origin? I want to see Uncle Ben, the wrestling match, hell, even Harry. That said, this is nothing compared to the Amazing Spider-Man series, which features my favorite portrayal of Spider-Man. 4/10

loading replies

What a disappointing movie. Sure it was quite enjoyable but to call it the best spiderman movie ever is an insult to those previous efforts. I understand that this spiderman is new and is not used to soaring the heights of New York City but something was missing. Tom Holland and Michael Keaton are both terrific actors, especially with Tom in that one scene in the warehouse, I could feel the pain the character was going through. But I felt as though lacked a lot of special moments, it didn't help that the score was very bland as are most marvel movies unfortunately. Nevertheless, I know the sequels will develop the spiderman character into the great one I know him to be. I'd still recommend this movie to anyone looking for a good time.

I can only say I enjoyed watching it

loading replies

I'll gladly give this 10.For so long I haven't enjoyed anything like this. Witty.

loading replies

this feels less like a spider-man movie and more like a tony stark/MCU movie. i dont get it either but thats what it feels like

loading replies

I couldn't say if Spiderman 3 form Sam Raimi or this one is the very worst Spiderman movie, but i can definitely say that is it NOT a "great" movie as many people say.
Tom Holland plays awefully, the story is a plot hole in itself and doesn't really take the viewer into it, very predictible and definitely not original as it is a mere copy of the first Sam Raimi's Spiderman.
The only good thing about that movie is Michael Keaton who bring a bit of light a the end of the tunnel.

If you want to enjoy a good Spiderman movie, check the Amazing Spiderman and its extraordinary sequel, with Andrew Garfield who for once plays as a real young person would act if they discovered themselves superpowers, plus the story is original, and not a pale remake of a better movie.

There is nothing more annoying than teens playing in superhero movies or, I wanted to shoot my TV, Star Wars. I lasted one hour and then ended it. That is me though if you do not mind annoying teens trying to say witty things or whatever, have a blast. It has amazing fx and the story seems ok. I will never know for sure...

And just read some other comment. YES! This is a movie with kids as the audience! Why did I not see that... childish brabbling, nervous about some other girl whether she likes him or not. Come on... Now I am even more ticked off they did not brand it as kids movie. Fewer points for you!

loading replies

It was a good movie. Zendaya's character made me laugh so much.
I like this new Spider-Man. Can be annoying at the beginning, but at the end is a cool guy.

loading replies

I’m going to keep this simple - I like this version of Spider-Man and how he fits in with the other Avengers movies. Tom Holland is a good choice for the role.

loading replies

This one was a lot of fun. Funny moments and some solid action.

Tom Holland does great as Peter/Spidey. Keaton does an amazing job as well.

The movie is basically an attempt -- and a good one at that -- at fitting SpiderMan into the avengers storyline. It's a very nice "spiderman got into the avengers" movie, but certainly not the best SpiderMan movie. Only recommend to watch this movie if you're a Marvel fan and/or you have watched previous MCU movies.

Definitely the best Spider-Man so far. Loved the action scenes and the comedy bits. Great story line (as expected being a Marvel creation) and Tom Holland is a brilliant Spider-Man.
Looking forward to the next one!

Amazing homecoming for spiderman!! There were many wins with this movie. Tom Holland plays a normal teenager, with normal problems and friends, and he is very good doing so. The support cast is amazing, with the vulture being, as said by other people, one of the best villains vulture has put out. The movie is vibrant, exciting and funny, and in many ways sets up a lot of exciting stuff for MCU, like pepper finally being back and the new avengers HQ.

Marvel keeps the streak of light-hearted movies, with tons of fun. Ned serves as a Luis in this movie, being the powerless sidekick and the comic relief. Robert Downey Jr. keeps it classy and Marisa Tomei does a pretty good job being the "cool-not-so-cool" aunt. I can't wait to see these guys back on the big screen.

Also, the second post-credits scene was fantastic!

First introductory Spider-Man movie in 15 years (and this was the third at that point) to not make us watch Uncle Ben's death again. Still gets a lot of points from me for being able to have a fresher take on the character so soon after two separate franchises.

I have only seen the last 3/4 of this film, so, AFAIK, the setup was nonsense, like so many other blockbusters, but I quite enjoyed myself for the majority of the film, thanks in no small part to Michael Keaton, Tomei, and Holland's chemistry and dynamics. After all, studies have shown Michael Keaton would make 87% of films better ;)

What resulted was the first Em-Sea-Ewe film I found worth watching since Iron Man 2. And the writers of Infinity War deciding to make Thanos an actual character has been the only thing since that has drawn my interest to the date of this writing. This may be the only one that I think really got it right, and wasn't a disappointment that squandered its source material, regardless of entertainment value. I may even bother to watch this again, fully, at some point.

I mean it’s ok… it’s not bad… but should be named like Iron Spider or something like that… after Spider-Man on Civil war I had hopes for a better story… I give this a 6 +1 cause of Keaton

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" joins the list of simple small-scale superhero movies that end up being better than the ambitious ones. The first half is a bit slow, but things start to get interesting from Homecoming day. At least they don't take time explaining the whole Spider-Man origin story for the umpteenth time. Vulture turned out to be a surprisingly charismatic villain, which is a pretty rare thing in MCU as the bad guys are usually kept purposely low-key so that they don't outshine the hero.

Spider-Man himself is rather annoying, but Holland seems like the perfect casting choice for an adaptation closer to the source material.

loading replies

I didn't like it, I don't like Hollans as Spiderman/ Peter, he's stupid. I only saw the movie because is part of the MCU. My fav spiderman is still Garfield.

loading replies

A lot of fun!

'Spider-Man: Homecoming' is entertaining, as I had expected in truth. The plot is possibly not as great as it could've been, but it is still one that is enjoyable to see. The effects are excellent, as is the humour.

Tom Holland is the star of this though. He kills it as the titular character, he adds a tremendous amount to the film. Michael Keaton plays his role well enough, while it's cool to see 'Iron Man' duo Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau involved.

Jacob Batalon is good, while it's noteworthy to have Zendaya and Donald Glover appear; even if they are underused/unimportant, at least for now for the former, I assume. I found the whole cast enjoyable, to be fair.

This narrowly misses the next rating up from me, but I still had a very pleasant time watching - and await the follow-up with much eagerness!

loading replies

tom holland is a genuinely delightful spider-man, probably because he embodies peter parker in his own way as himself. his accent is spot on at all times; never once do i stop thinking this is a kid from new york. i think my favorite thing about this movie though is how well-rounded all the characters are. a lot of times in superhero films the only development we see is with the superheroes themselves, or even that gets cut at the expense of more action sequences. but everyone in peter's life has a story and a background and it makes the movie very feel good and fulfilling for its genre. this is my second time watching it and it's a rewatchable and enjoyable film for sure. best part is still the stupid captain america Hello Youth video clips that the gym teacher shows tbh.

If your pre teenage then go watch this. Unfortunately for adults, you will be totally let down, better trying to remember Spider-Man from the 70’s & 80’s when you were an actual kid. Yes, show this to your children & go to sleep remembering when movies without a coherent plot worked for you!
