This movie makes my heart so happy :sob:
A classic fairytale with witches, unicorns, evil princes, star struck (literally) lovers, flying ships, shape shifters. Fabulous cast from both sides of the pond. Beautiful locations. The script was a little weak, and it dragged in places, never the less I give it a 7.5 (entertaining) out of 10. [Adventure, Fantasy, Romance, Family]
This is by far one of my best adventure, fantasy and romance movie. I'll never get bored watching it.
A very exciting and fun movie! An magical world filled with some famous names and good music. It might be a bit too long but I really enjoyed it.
Love this movie. Atrocious sound mixing.
This movie was recommended by a friend from work. I've been known to not particularly be a fan of love stories or fantasy movies and this movie was a bit of both. However, I'm going to use it to prove a point. As with many other forms of art, quality is quality. I can't stand country music but a good song would shine through (wouldn't it?).
Anyway, the movie does something that is somewhat rare these days: it drops you into a world that you know nothing about on an adventure that seems to have no boundaries or rules. At times it is sweet and other times it is funny but it is always mysterious. The movie is somewhat cheesy but despite being a fantasy it is always believable. Many of the reviews that I read compared it favorably to "Princess Bride".
For the life of me I can't figure out why there wasn't more run on this movie before it was released. I'm not saying that it was the second coming of the Godfather but it was a really nice movie for all ages and it had an all-star cast (Michelle Pfeiffer, Claire Danes, Robert De Niro, Peter O'toole, many others). I watched it with Rebecca and her brother and all three of us enjoyed it immensely despite having decidedly different tastes in movies.

10+ friendly for sure. Not much violence, other than sword play.
Great fantasy love story. Highly recommend. Love stars! :)
its a very good fantasy humble and precious movie, i loves all moment of that movie
I didn't know what to expect when I put this on, but I thought it was awesome! A modern fairytale for (semi) grownups by Neil Gaiman, with sky-pirates, ancient witches, 'the wall' and a leading role for the northern pole star. Great cast, great setting, great storytelling. It's not perfect, but it's got that genuine feeling to it that most Hollywood films miss nowadays. This is a new favorite of mine!
a better than average fantasy that I will watch with the kids. and the part of the cross-dressing sky-pirate is played by none other than Robert De Niro.
Got bored after 45 minutes, switched off.
CGI etc is top-notch. I can see people loving this movie, but it wasn't for me.
I remember watching this movie as a kid and thinking it was ok.
I decided to rewatch it after reading the book and now I think that it’s absolutely terrible. They’ve made a complete mess of the story and the characters. It’s like someone read a short summary about the book and decided to make a movie based just on that.
The book was magical. This movie is not...
Stardust is one of the most underrated films of all time and it proves that Matthew Vaughn is one of the best directors of all time as he is basically a king of every genre, this is a fairy tale but I will say something now and that is it is fun for everyone to watch as Kids will enjoy it and adults will probably enjoy it even more. Not only is this film fun but it's actually really creative and I will take it over any of the Disney Live-Action films any day of the week, all the actors and visuals make this film incredibly special and makes it a unique watch.
This film has such a star-studded cast as well, its really weird because a lot of these actors weren't stars at the time as this film has great performances from Charlie Cox (Tristan Thorn), Claire Danes (Yvanie) and even Henry Cavill (Humphrey) is great for the little screen time he has. But the best performances definitely come from Robert De Niro (Captain Shakespeare) who plays a unique role for him and Michelle Pfieffer (Lamia) who gives a career-best in my opinion.
Grab the popcorn and have some fun everyone because this is a great ride from start to finish.
Adorable!!
A love story that pulls into the charm of the magical world, demonstrates the true face of an affectionate feeling, revenge, death, even life itself in a poetic and light way.
I watched this mainly to see Robert De Niro and he did not disappoint. As for the rest of the movie, it is a little bland and too long. Still worth a watch.
This guy has an awesome barber
I've got a huge softspot for this film. I'm not sure why exactly... It might be because it's a great little adventure. It might be because of the excellent cast. It might also be because I secretly love a good fairytale with a cute ending... all I know is that I really like it... and I bet you would too.
Action. Comedy. Romance. The primary colors of genre. Many have attempted to combine all three, but very few succeed. This movie is one of the exceptions. It may seem like a lofty comparison, but I think this film wouldn't be out of place alongside The Princess Bride (or, for a more contemporary comparison, the first Pirates of the Caribbean). The writing is bursting with creativity, the pacing is perfect, the cast is brilliant, the humor is plentiful, and the all around excellent filmmaking ties it together into a timeless package that holds up 15 years later.
Surprisingly good.
Went in with low expectations and left pleasantly surprised.
A well-paced family adventure that is still a joy to this day.
8/10 - Great film, one that I'll happily watch again
A nice fairy tale full of brightly shining stars and a little dimmed ones too. ;)
I'm not quite sure what to say. I'm not sure if I really understand, it's weird.
Great fantasy movie! Absolutely love it!
Honestly, it was what my day needed. Glad I watched it. Very magical, very funny, very sweet. Even disturbing at time. ;) With the cutest ending. Definitely recommend it.
Shame about Ricky Gervais, even though he gets his comeuppance. Other than that, this leaves me a blubbering wreck, every time.

Stardust is an enchanted fantasy adventure from director Matthew Vaughn. Based on the beloved novel, when a star falls to Earth in the magical kingdom of Stormhold a race to recover it begins between the sons of the dying king, an evil witch, and a love-struck peasant. The film has an all-star cast that includes Claire Danes, Charlie Cox, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sienna Miller, and Robert De Niro; who all give good performances. And, the sets and special effects create an interesting and vivid world that enhances the story and the adventure. Additionally, Ilan Eshkeri provides a strong score that gives the film a lot of energy and mystique. A magical tale, Stardust is full of thrills and excitement.
