Steel 1997

Aggressively boring.
But it is weird to see what is basicly the Ironman story from 2008 done in 1997, starring Shaq.

I was fortunate to see this cheesy action film on GritTV. The writing's atrocious & John Henry's crusade to keep kids off the streets seems very similar to the subplot to "The Meteor Man." Annabeth Gish, while not one of the best actresses around, looks embarrassed & could be better remembered for "The X-Files." But my 2 rating means that while it has numerous flaws, it's still good for "Mystery Science Theater 3000" riffs or doing other activities (i.e. eating or websurfing) while the movie's on.

It's corny at times, especially at the beginning, but not as unwatchable as it's made out to be. Yeah Shaq is a terrible actor, but the rest of the cast will put in a decent performance with a flimsy script. Sadly they tease a relationship between Irons and Sparks that never comes to fruition.

A bit class B movie with a bit RoboCop style, a bit of A-Team, a bit Blade, and all this stuffed with sauce from a weak actor Shaq... it could have been worse. ;)

The most atrocious iteration of the Superman series, Steel is an abomination that everyone has since disowned. Shaquille O’Neal stars as John Henry Irons, a former U.S. Army weapons specialist who resigned after a training accident crippled his friend, but he becomes a vigilante after discovering that his weapons have found their way into the hands of L.A. street gangs. O’Neal’s acting is beyond awful, and his co-stars are just as bad. The costumes and sets look cheap and cartoonishly stupid, and the music is abysmal. Steel is an appallingly bad film that is nearly unwatchable.

"You all be cool now".

Steel is one of the most funniest superhero movies that ever existed. It's pure comedy gold in every single frame. Shaquille O'Neal can't act to save his own life and the costume that he wears is laughable. This is one special movie that will live on as a studio mistake.
