That mascot fight was superb. Like something out of a damn video game. You gotta disable the Mascot Boss' padded head and use it against him. The rest of the movie was just fine. Kidnapped daughter, vice president taken hostage. Standard action fare, everyone's seen a million movies like this before. But that mascot fight was really great.

Powers Boothe just owns this one right? The way he threatens van Damme's daughter in this. Epic stuff. I don't think you would like your mouth being filled with Spiders Emily!
Anyway Sudden Death is a Die Hard clone during game 7 of the Stanley Cup starring the legendary van Dammage. You get van Damme getting his ass kicked by a woman in a Penguin costume, you have him running around defusing bombs, you have Powers Boothe shooting hostages and dropping one-liners, you have a "twist" (which I totally forgot about somehow), you have van Damme really trying to act in the first 10 minutes when he is a firefighter, you even have some goalie action as van Damme suits up to play a minute in a game 7 Stanley Cup game and you have loads of baddies running around trying to find him. Oh! And I forgot, his son never leaves his seat.
Peter Hyams and Jean-Claude together is always a fun time for me but this one could've used a little more kicking.
A little slow on the pacing at first, but otherwise, one of the best if not THE best JCVD film! Powers Boothe, perfect back n forth between stories, action and one liners. They really just dont make em like this anymore. 6.5 rounded up to 7 w trakt
