Nice & fresh idea, although the ending is a little too predictable: O'Ryan can see into the heads of serial killers who he kills when catching up with them. O'Ryan leaves clues for Agent Mackelway at the sites of crime until Mackelway can understand O'Ryan's secret.
Interesting plot in this little thriller, even if it seems overused and cliché all these years later. But Kingsley gives a great performance, as usual.

This movie would've been a 10. The script was great. Kingsley was fantastic. The rest of the cast was really good. Even most of the editing was pretty decent. But the directing sucked. The lighting and musical choices were terrible. The angles of most of the shots tried too hard to be reminiscent of Hitchcock or Wells. Seemed like a junior director's first shot. Just completely the wrong director. Paramount needs to try again. Unfortunately won't work with Kingsley a second time. Shamalyn or Keopp with Bale or Phoenix as Mac and DeNiro, Hackman or Plummer. Problem was probably Cruise as one of the producers. They were likely stuck using Scientologists for everything, which would've been fine except for the really sucky directing.
