I absolutely adore movies like this. A few drinks, throw one of these on and you're transported back to nostalgia-o-clock.
A wonderfully campy ‘80s period comedy, Take Me Home Tonight is hilariously entertaining. The story follows a video store clerk named Matt Franklin who gets a second chance to win over his old high school crush when he learns that she’s going to a local Labor Day party. Featuring Topher Grace, Anna Faris, Dan Fogler, and Teresa Palmer, the film has a strong cast that’s able to bring the comedy. The ‘80s aesthetic is brilliantly done, and completely encapsulates the energy and style of the period without being gaudy or meta. Additionally, the soundtrack is outstanding and gives the film personality. Take Me Home Tonight is a sincere romantic comedy that’s a lot of fun.
This was much better than I was expecting. Not a classic by any stretch but you have to like Topher's character.
This movie was pretty bad, not unwatchable though when that Dan Fogler is off screen. That guy is for real cinematic cancer and the only logical explanation for him still getting work is he must have incriminating photos of someone very high up the food chain. Also, Anna Faris had a pretty small role in the movie and is on the poster strictly to try to grab a few more viewers.
It's neither particularly funny nor interesting. ps. If Pratt had played like that in Guardians of the Galaxy, he probably wouldn't have made a career... ;)
If you say that about Fogler, I must say the same about Faris... The movie it´s not so bad and take us back to the awesome 80´s =)

I am surprised no one talks about this movie. It is a fun "what am I going to do with my life" 80's movie. Back then you had no smartphones and internet to look everything up so you can be whatever you want to be.. just for one night.
