y'all tripping, this was a good movie and +1 for the fox being bad
It’s no Pixar levels of greatness, but it’s no Illumination levels of shit either.
It’s a little too generic and predictable to be truly outstanding, but still very efficient and a fun time nonetheless.
Pretty much the entire movie is carried by the animation style (you gotta love how Spiderverse opened the doors for these weirder styles of animation), the music and the fun scenes where they’re ripping off the Oceans franchise.
Some decent characters as well (though the wolf felt like a carbon copy of the wolf character in Zootopia), some good jokes, but also a few Illumination moments.
I get that you’re making a kids film, but I take issue with films that treat kids like dumb pieces of shit.
Though overall, I didn’t mind this film at all, it’s pretty alright.
6/10
95 I The Bad Guys should get more recognition from a lot of people. If you like an animated film such as Turning Red, well The Bad Guys is way better. The editing, music, and visuals are just pure entertainment. Everyone should watch this film, kids, teenagers, men, women, and the elderly would love this film. Brings your family, grab your movie snack and watch The Bad Guys as soon as possible. This film is so much more fun than we thought.
Probably the most expectation what The Bad Guys got is average boring animated films for toddlers. But it is way opposite or way more than that. It's a very well-crafted film. At least it is at the same level as Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse and some people think The Bad Guys is better. The pure genius of the people behind this masterpiece collaborates well. Meaning, that usually an animated film is only heavy on its visuals but The Bad Guys also masters, we should say it again, the editing, the music, the writing, and the voice-over. All of it is just perfect.
It all started with the opening of the film. When we thought it would going to be another Zootopia film, immediately this film proved us wrong. How they introduced their characters and how they interact with their society are the definition of show don't tell. It all so did not timid to show the masterful filmmaking from the start. Just put it this way, The Bad Guy's editing is just like Baby Driver's, probably not better but more entertaining. And it is just the beginning, this film did not stop there.
The characters are very amusing to watch. They have good chemistry and we could see how strong their bond are. With five characters in the bad guys' group, this film has a strong quality to show. All of them are not only one-dimensional characters, let us mention Snake, one of the characters. He is the main strong point of the story. His character development is just incredible without being too rushed, even though this film is only 2 hours long. Although Shark, Tarantula, and Piranha felt like supporting characters without much story, they completed Snake's character development. And there is Wolf......
Wolf is introduced as a scary monstrous animal that hunt scared people or animals. A lot of tales, stories, or myths put wolves as bad characters. This film explicitly tells us that he is one of the bad guys. He wanted to be called a bad guy. But his way of thinking was changed by the creative way of storytelling. A bad guy made one of the bad guys becomes a good guy. That's how complicated the story is, but this film manages to tell it in a much simpler way. Even a preschooler could understand the story.
The best element or the best thing that The Bad Guys do is how freaking funny they are. Have you heard a story of a man who died because of laughing? Well, you better watch this film with someone because you could have difficulty breathing while watching it. You would have too much laughing until you forget to breathe. For your safety, don't eat too much while watching The Bad Guys, you could be choked. Have a phone right next to you, so you could call 911 immediately. Because surely you would not want to die because of laughing. Hahaha. This review is too much and very hyperbolic.

I know this is a kid's movie, but the wolf character is so...slick.
I think this movie has awakened something in me.
i really cannot finish this movie. very bad in my opinion.
The Bad Guys is a raucously entertaining and clever animated comedy. The story follows a gang of thieves that are caught trying to steal a prestigious award statue, but are given a second chance when a famed humanitarian offers to rehabilitate them. Featuring the voice talents of Sam Rockwell, Awkwafina, Craig Robinson, and Zazie Beetz, the film has a pretty good cast that creates fun characters. However, the animation is rather odd, mixing 3D and 2D animation, resulting in a kind of blur in close-up scenes. Still, the character designs are rather interesting, with all the anthropomorphic animals, and there are a number of exciting chases and fight scenes. And the film has a good message about friendship and second chances (without being heavy-handed). It has a few rough edges, but The Bad Guys delivers a lot of laughs along with some thrills.
Its more for kids than adults The trailer makes it seem like there will be more to it, but its too simple of a movie.
This is a great film why on earth is everyone such a hater
All the characters are fun and exciting, and you know it’ll have a happy ending eventually
Great film 10/10
This isn't bad, guys, but despite the strong animation, the story isn't particularly engaging.
Really liked Ocean's movies, but I found this movie a bit bland and not that funny either. I liked the animation and characters design, though.
This is the aftermath of Zootopia with the concept of Suicide Squad… with homage to Fast and Furious and Wreck It Ralph 2 (even a bit of Fincher’s Se7en).
Very cute premise but why are only the main characters animals and all the other characters human? How is it there's only one anthropomorphic guinea pig and thousands of regular guinea pigs? How how does the kitten keep showing up where it wasn't a minute ago? The animators must have had a field day.
All these American animation studios keep proposing "children" (often driven to these movies only due to the abnormal strictness of UK and US film censorships) the same stuff over an over. Yet again anthropomorphic animals, yet again the American silly moralism between good and bad, a plot which does not spark any interest, and also a lackluster animation style. For children and grownups alike, to see good animations go to Japan.
Loved it. Didn't got bored for even one second
The best line was butt rock.
It's a little too slapstick-y and kid-leaning in its humor to secure a spot among top-tier animated films, but between the stellar cast (Sam Rockwell in particular), the ever reliable heist genre, and the surprisingly solid animation, this was still a very good time that shouldn't have any problem winning over its target audience.
Absolutely delightful. Sam Rockwell as Wolf has to be one of the best pieces of voiceover work in recent years. The animation was gorgeous. I love the mixture of traditional 2D animation blended with the 3D animation. It is a bit of a rehash of Zootopia, but I think The Bad Guys did it better.
While it may not be the best DreamWorks film out there, it does hit a similar tone to Madagascar or Kung Fu Panda that makes it pretty enjoyable for the whole family! This one feels like there is a sequel coming, and honestly, I will look forward to it at that time!
Rating: 3/5 - 7.5/10 - Worth Watching
The story was a bit generic and predictable, and the ratio between animal characters and human characters was strange. Everyone except the main characters were human, which was a bit offputting at times.
And that's where my criticism ends. This was a very good movie with great casting choices, and the characters all had unique personalities that were entertaining to watch. It seemed like the animation team was really passionate about this, as the animation was easily the best part of this movie. I saw a comment that mentioned Spiderverse, and I can really see how that might have been an inspiration. It's a simple story on what constitutes being good and how people can change, so if what you value most is a bulletproof script, you might not enjoy it. Otherwise, it's worth a watch.
what the fuck? so whats the moral of the story here????
good movie. cute, entertaining, wholesome. i really enjoyed it.
In these times, the wolf is the good guy and the guinea pig is the bad guy.
Never ever trust a Guinea pig . Or a snake alone in a room with Guinea Pigs
such a fun & well animated movie, loved it very very much
sort of fun to watch but pretty generic.
The story is very predictable, but can still be enjoyed. The animation is very cool.
Nice movie.Great watch. Definitely, a must-watch!

I will say that this movie isn’t quite as good as the hype suggests, but this is without a doubt one of the best original movies Dreamworks has put out in a long long time. There is a lot to love about this movie from its fast-paced and smart storytelling, likable characters, unique animation that is some of the best the Dreamworks studio has given us, and a cool music score from Daniel Pemberton. Sure, some of the jokes are aimed more at kids and there are times the storytelling can lose some of its sharpness from the writing, but that's a small price to pay to witness an experience that is unlike anything you’ve seen from the animation studio thus far. With all the pointless Dreamworks sequels that are slated to come out in the future, I would love to see a sequel to this movie if at all possible. I hope this movie continues to get more and more success because this is a film from Dreamworks that is legit good and may prove that we may be entering a new era of Dreamworks movies.
(Final Grade: B+)
Animation=awesome
Characters=good
Story=good
I was expecting it to be terrible for many reasons but i really enjoyed it, demn am watching it for the second time
I wasn't sure if I was going to like this movie, but I did. There were several good chuckles, an interesting premise, and a satisfying ending.
The good stuff:
** There's nothing wrong with a story about the power of friendship without making you tear up about it.
** The voice acting matched the characters, and the animations matched the voices.
** I love Alex Borstein as the police chief. Straight from Mrs. Maisel to this movie, without the cusses (unfortunately, but it is a kids movie).
** A short run time is usually a good thing.
The bummers:
-- No real twists here. The villain was easy to figure out and the story moved in predictable patterns.
-- Kids movies are often known for including some adult humor, and this one lacked any of that. It wasn't a movie most adults will seek out to watch again.
The animation was superb but everything else was just okay
:heart:x6
Not a Pixar movie - meaning, by default it already is going to be sub-par. The story is not particularly engaging. There are a few laughs tho, and it is watchable. It's just not a great or even very good movie.
How I rate:
1-3  = seriously! don't waste your time
4-6  = you may or may not enjoy this
7-8  = I expect you will like this too
9-10  = movies and TV shows I really love!
Fun, but a bit generic. Nothing that really stands out. It will be entertaining for those 100 minutes, but then you will probably forget about it. I don't get why they used animals. It does not fit the world, and they don't use it in any way. Probably just done so it's easier to market to children.
Solid premise, and delightful art direction... let down by frustrating predictability.
Level "Entertaining" • 6  • You may or may not enjoy this.
Went for the animation, stayed for the animation.

Like The Illustrated Bible when I was a kid: the pictures were cool but the story was meh.
As with many graphic novels made into movies, they keep changing the goal plots but, don't worry, the moral message is there throughout.
Which is too bad, because the animation style was original and deserves to be seen.
