Oath, the practical effects are so worth it. Gruesome, brutal. My favourite thing about these kinds of movies is that the victims clearly become mannequins before being mashed.
The acting for the Blob victims is really good and the CG at the end is so cute.

Nifty remake of the 1958 classic. This story of a shapeless, featureless space alien, instead of the usual "little green men", opens the door for a decidedly different kind of invasion movie. This version stays pretty true to the original and the advancement of special effects over 30 years allows for some really great and gory kills. The best being a victim being pulled into a sink drain and a wicked attack of a main character in a doctor's office.
There are some effects that aren't so good though, you'll scoff when you see them. The acting is really very good and its got its share of moments that are actually scary. The characters, even the primaries, could get swallowed up at anytime. I'd say this is a must watch for any fan of the original.
Seeing it again after so many years, it's still a very fun ride... With some nasty deaths and Kevin Dillon's hair , this is a blast from the 80's..
I could happily watch this again because it was incredible fun, and the effects are brilliant for their time. Every death scene is unique and cleverly done; no one is safe in this town.

I am blown away by this horror remake. They keep things pretty tight, no one is safe, and they have amazing practical effects that make me want to watch a "behind the scenes."
i guess i just had to be there for it's time. it was okay, some of the kill scenes were dope but nothing too crazy
It’s a fun one. The effects were actually pretty good up until the blob got too big. Plenty of cheesy tension builders that were good for some chuckles. I was entertained enough.
Underrated, practical effects are magnificent to behold.
First time watching this i've been putting it aside for years thinking it would be cheesy with bad effects... well that's not the case at all!
A deadly blob goes on a rampage and consumes everyone in it's path. The Blob is a fun, campy, grotesque and well-made 80s sci-fi horror. It's very thrilling and fun and the pacing is perfect. The practical effects look amazing (made me think of The Thing) but it does also use some CGI. For an 80s movie it looks hella good though. The characters are enjoyable and the blob doesn't hold off on any of them anyone can die. The last third of the movie was so epic and memorable.
A MUST for every horror fan!

They did NOT hold back when it came to who’d be killed off. Nobody was safe. Always a plus for a horror film.
Big win for the practical effects here. Satisfyingly grotesque.
It’s a quick film that pretty much gets straight to the point and doesn’t let up. Mindless entertainment from the 80s time capsule.
