Not a bad film - I didn't hang up on it - but more could have been done with the core concept of the movie.
Time wasted watching this, not worthing at all
This film was Very bad
It was really good till it got to the end. Like the writers couldn't figure it out how to end it.
Apart from a couple of jump scares that’ll admit caught me out it was a pretty mediocre film which is a shame because the concept is good
Worth watching for Lin Shaye and Tobin Bell, but that's about it.. Its a somewhat fresh approach to the '80s retro vibe that has become all the rage since Stranger Things, but unfortunately lacks for its uninteresting teen cast and has no satisfying payoff whatsoever. Honestly, the creepiest part of the movie is Chris' mom asking her son to call some rando boyfriend "Dad".
Tell ya what - I love that it stars horror legends Tobin Bell and Lin Shaye. That’s INCREDIBLE. I also appreciated the plot, which was indeed interesting. Make a call beyond the grave, last a minute, win $100,000, but you have to call a ghost. Love it. But the execution wasn’t as great. Tobin and Lin needed to be in it more, and they needed to SHARE a scene and they never do. They’re supposed to be married! And the kids making the calls are pretty disposable.
This movie can really be summarized by one word: meh
This is a throwback to an 80's-style horror movie. Complete with mediocrity and no real horror or thrills.
In other words - This is quite a boring horror movie. I cannot in good conscience recommend this movie, however, I am pretty sure some folks will still find it enjoyable.
