The best Dardennes film I've seen to date. Hard hitting and extremely realistic. Two parents are broke and do whatever it takes to make money. But one of them oversteps the mark. Must watch for any Euro film fan.
This is a story of a young couple who give birth to a baby. They are 18 years old and deadly poor. That is why the boyfriend tries to sell their baby without her permission. This film won Palme d'Or in 2005, and I reckon this was because it described a part of reality of Europe quite well. Although I cannot realise it completely since I do not live in Europe, I felt like this kind of story can happen to everyone.
