Earthquake Bird 2019

The movie's themes match the Japanese setting, but there is more style than substance in this less than earth-shattering film.

If you want to watch an actress who can ride every subtle nuance of an emotional wave, then Alicia Vikander is your kind of actress (it's that skill that won her an Oscar, gives her the ability to shift genres effortlessly and has earned her a faithful fan base). This story is a character study perfectly articulated. Alicia's performance is a 10. If you want a fast paced thriller with dramatic twists and turns, this is not the movie for you. The twists may not take you by surprise. The story is a slow, methodical reveal of a mystery. I give the film a 7 (good) out of 10. [Dramatic Thriller]

I enjoyed the dark, brooding atmosphere, the cinematic shots around Japan, and the mysterious relationships portrayed. Some fine acting from the leads too. Recommend if you like something different.

Mediocre movie with a very good performance by Alicia Vikander. The setting and style of the movie is also quite unique.

Netflix still uses the xenophobic Yellow Peril trope in 2019?!? Despicable.

Hauntingly beautiful film, great story-line with a proper ending unlike so many these days. I found it captivating and Vikander was superb. It's not weird enough for the critics, it's realistic.

More like Earthquake TURD. LOL JK. But not really. I think Alicia is an incredible actress, but sometimes I don’t get the acting choices she makes. Her character sends certain signals but then the narrative contradicts them. Idk, I thought this movie was confusing most of the time. And not in a good way.

Film with predictable plot, without surprises. Vikander's performance is the only positive point.
