Troubled young lady in beautiful black & white. I didn't convince me totally but it's pretty disturbing nevertheless. Try it out.
Francisca and Norman Bates would make a great power couple.
This must be another one of those movies that shocks some, but didn't capture my attention at all. It's artistically shot, but I've seen similar done better.
3 Thoughts After Watching ‘The Eyes of My Mother’:
I really liked this movie.... sad, disturbing, slow burn character study into depravity and loneliness.... consequences of youthful events .... we become what we live and see.... I found this movie sad, frightening.... but I loved it. A great watch.
I fear certain critics have been blinded by the artiness. Personally, I found myself stumbling around in the dark trying to work out what all the fuss was about.
showed early promise but became very boring quickly. Utterly unbelievable art house movie showing style over substance.

Damn, this really was something. Absolutely gorgeously composed while telling one of the most drab, bleak, horrifying, depressing and sad stories I've seen for quite a while; I ran the gamut of emotions watching this movie. A cautionary tale on childhood trauma and indefinite loneliness, this one will stick with me for quite some time. I got similar feelings from Dogtooth, pure horror and disgust but with a pang of empathy for this deeply broken, disturbed character. Great movie.
