The best part of this movie is the soundtrack, which is mostly cues recycled from Friday the 13th. I quite liked the part where the dog had a flashback to the previous movie.
Better than the first, but only on par with any average 80s slasher (cheesy, weird sound effects/soundtrack, kids being picked off one by one).

Not the absolute worst when you watch it like its a forgettable 80s slasher that happens to be set in Hills Have Eyes Land.
It's a pretty sloppy, trashy cash-in. One that even Wes Craven disowned, which says a lot with some of the doozers he was involved in. It's a run-of-the-mill slasher sequel, that features a dog as a protagonist, complete with him having a flashback to the first movie. Let that sink in for a minute. A Dog. Has a flashback. And a blind girl that's able to masterfully maneuver her way around an abandoned mine shaft... I guess it could make for a fun drinking game.

I think this one's a tad overhated. It's not great, but there's way worse mid-80s slashers out there.
