Not sure why all the hate. The main complaint I have is that it should have been called The Kung Fu Kid.
A nicely filmed movie with solid work by Jackie Chan. Other than that it was totally unnecessary. But shouldn’t kill your childhood. Since no one has the same names as characters in the original. You can still make believe it’s in the same universe. I also didn’t hate Jaden. He was worse in After Earth. Was pretty decent here.
Plus Cobra Kai is for you if you wanted more of the original cast and characters. This really is pretty good as long as you don’t compare it to the original.
It's all messed up and definitely miles south from the original. Too many plot and theme ludicrousness. Jaden Smith's acting and his character s*cks monkey balls as well.
i dont like the kid, master jackie deserves better pupils :)
The only good thing in this movie was Jackie Chan! He was great! There were some beautiful locations, too. The rest, so bad! And no matter that it's a remake of the great movie named Karate Kid, naming this one Karate Kid when it's about kung fu, that's just stupid.
Another stupid remake. I wish they would come up with their own shit as all they do is ruin original movies.
super loved this movie especially the song choices for john mayer and justin bieber. love jaden smith's portrayal to this and the way he trained for the scenes. so cooooool! i just dont get it why it's called the karate kid when everything they're learning is kung fu haha
This movie's not that bad, it's just a remake of a classic film (like if the original one there was no any mistakes). it counts with one of the best dramatic Jackie Chan performances, and the best Jaden Smith role ever. Recommended if you are not comparing both movies. Honestly, the only bad thing here is the movie's name, and that's it. It's not Karate, it's Kung Fu.
There is an alternate ending of this movie on youtube, I highly recommend watching it
Great movie!!

It was obviously a product: "Hey Dad! I wanna play in a movie too! Can I, Daddy? Pleaeaeaeasse?"
Seriously, this movie was offensive towards the original. You suck, Will Smith, for presenting this movie to the youth of today and ruining youth sentiments for me, and many others.
