This is an interesting little character drama about the difficulties of marriage and separation. The title of the movie and the opening scene set a tone for a note that is not really reflective of the movie itself. I enjoyed the way the story unfolds and the ending was both unexpected and curious. I enjoyed it.

[Göteborg FF] From the close-up that the film begins to the sequence shots on which the story is built, this is a powerful reflection of a rupture that causes a deep emotional shake, which also shows the children as victims of this separation. Clayne Crawford, whom we remember from "Rectify", masterfully transmits that mental confusion, perhaps too underlined by that "industrial" sound that replaces the soundtrack. The film maintains a constant tension that is resolved in a shocking ending.

Despite the title this isn’t as bleak as it could have been. There are shocking moments but these are countered with scenes that offer some hope amidst the relationship struggle at the heart of the film.
