what..... a waste .... of my precious time ...
The trailer made it look like she's possessed through out the whole thing, what a waste...
What a snooze of a movie. At least it was under 90 min? I love all the actors involved but this was a stinker from minute one.
Fantastic movie. One minute the characters are throwing out scientific facts and terms like it's Beakman's World, and the next they're horribly misrepresenting evolution by natural selection. Everyone behind the film have all probably noticed this as well. It mat well have been intentional.
Anyways, it's weird that Hollywood ramped up misogyny by turning Olivia Wilde into a living Even Horizon. This is part of the joke, right? Hello?
It almost felt like a movie, but then you realize it was 50% setup and then 50% cheap horror film tricks and jump scares. No real developments, no interesting character choices, not much substance at all.
Would've given it a six, until it crammed the conclusion into a 20 minute monkey fest with retard ass and a dumb sequel setup.
Olivia Wilde stars in the supernatural horror film The Lazarus Effect. A university study goes horribly wrong when one of the researchers dies in a freak accident and is revived using an experimental procedure. Wilde gives a solid performance, and so does her co-star Sarah Bolger. Also, the film does a nice job of building suspense and tension. But, the writing’s a little weak and isn’t sure what direction to take the plot: as it’s unclear whether the resurrected character is demon possessed, lost their humanity, or something else. Yet despite its weaknesses, The Lazarus Effect manages to deliver some good scares.
A horror that I came across today and it was alright, some average action and thought it would do better with the cast it had thought and felt like pet cemetery vs flatliners.
Not a flick I'd recommend, but I've seen worse ones. I liked the first half.
Words can't describe how TRASH this movie is even on my rating system couldn't find not one point for this film
/2 story
/2 acting
/2 pacing
/2 dialogue
/1 directing, technical aspect
/1 living up to its genre
Waste of time, I was very disappointed!
I found the first half of the movie great because it creates a great eerie atmosphere, but the second half becomes predictable and cliché.
waste of my time. Otstoy

Bad, childish with no effort to make it a real horror movie.
Evil? Where I didnt seen it.
Pretty good concept developed in too little time: the movie lasts 1 h and 23 mins, there's literally no time for suspence. Three characters die in something like 20 minutes. The influence of religion it's just pathetic, this movie screams "american pile of shit" from every single frame.
There's no explanation of Zoe's point of view: why should she be killing everyone? If her synapses are just working too much, she should be capable to control her killing spree, instead she goes nuts and butcher everybody in the lab.
I noticed that they tried to pick up Lucy's main concept: the brain using only 10% of its capabilities and the possibility to unlock what keeps us from using 100% of the brain, but, instead of picking up the lines from some idiotic fake science magazine like Luc Besson did in Lucy, in The Lazarus Effect I find more of a scientific language and explanation, which isn't bad at all.
I think that if they used Zoe as a narrator through the whole movie, if they explained better her situation and if it featured and actual ending, it wouldn't be such a waste of time.
Clichés: the black guy dies first, people dying way to fast, don't play God or you're gonna end up dead, corporations are the devil (infact I don't think it's a casualty that Mr. Wallace was played by Ray Wise who also played the devil in Reaper).
I agree, skip it. Nothing to see here.
Skip it: just not worth it
Horrible movie. Would not let my grandmother watch it and she has dementia. Wouldn't want her to forget how horrible it is.

Good intro to horror movie for those who don't like horror but love disappointment.
