The Little Hours 2017

Wow. With such an incredible cast, I had higher expectations. It just felt exploitative and lazy, and as though the script was underwritten. It dragged, and we didn't bother finishing it.

I haven't read the classic work or seen the 1970's version of the Decameron, but I am guessing they aren't as funny or as offbeat as this. One of the more unusual films I have seen recently, this is, for the most part, quite delightful. And more than a little naughty!

the cast made this movie, what it is.

After seeing the cast for this film, I thought it had to be a slam dunk or, at the very least, have a fair share of good chuckles. I hate it when I'm wrong. Such a solid cast was wasted on a mediocre sketch that was stretched to 90 minutes. A few places the movie felt like it could take off...but then it crashed back to mediocrity. Color me very let down.

The movie works best as a commentary on how stifling (and often hypocritical) religious belief can be. At times it veers off of the rails a bit but the sheer talent of the cast makes it a worthwhile (if fairly forgettable) watch.

Fucks knows what was going on half of the time but I thought it was funny and loved the script and definitely different to any nun film I’ve ever seen and couldn’t complain about the cast specially (John C Reilly) character, had me in stitches. It’s a miracle! ha

Like watching the actors doing a few medieval-themed comedy skits. Good, but nothing revolutionary.

SINNERS! All of them are sinners. I am a good christian and thought this movie was going to fortify me belief. Instead it completely shits on it.

Don't know if you noticed but that was completely sarcastic. I'm atheist.

This movie is weird. Not as weird as Hereditary but yeah. The acting is good but I wouldn't consider this a comedy. It has it's funny moments but not laugh out loud. It has a much higher RT score than I would've believed but I wouldn't watch it again.

If you want to watch it it's on Netflix as of January 1, 2019.

Why have they made such a movie from the 1970s in 2017?

Great cast, some mildly funny scenes and that was that. I may have dozed off, would not have noticed.

There's a turtle with a candle on it!

...what a silly movie, haha. Oh and Kate Micucci boobies! Never expected to see those!

Aubrey Plaza is so perfect as a nun who curses and then turns out to be a witch. I need more Alison Brie in my life. Kate Micucci is good too, in her own weird way. John C. Reilly is a super underrated actor and really great in this.

A silly movie with an odd premise. It made me think why the makers of this film felt this had to be made and why these actors agreed to do it. That being said, I enjoyed it!
