The Night of the Hunted 1980

Night of the Hunted starts out great - like an early Cronenberg film - but soon dips into the nonsensical realm that Jean Rollin calls home. There is no internal logic to any of the story, which does not get anything resembling an explanation until very late into the third act. What's sad is that this has pieces of what could be a great movie, it is shot beautifully, but the terrible writing results in an unintelligible, dreamlike waste. Anyone who loves Euro-sleaze, like Rollin, and Franco, will still want to watch this, but everyone else needs to steer clear.
