10/10 I cried manly tears
Despite being a really well-acted and a moving story, it was actually kinda hard to watch; I had to take breaks every so often while watching it, in part because of the cringe-inducing awkwardness of it all, in a good way. It's really well-made though and I'm impressed that it was actually directed by the author of the novel, everything goes together nicely. Great coming-of-age story, I'd thoroughly recommend it.
First of all, I've not read the book and that might be a good thing as it seems that many of those who has think the movie is leaving out some important bits. For me this is possibly the best movie I've seen this year. It is truly beautiful in my eyes.
I just wanna EAT Logan Lerman in this movies. He's STUNNING playing Charlie, STUNNING! I would never guess he was THAT GOOD of an actor. I'm amazed by everything, but mostly by him. I hope he gets nominated for an Oscar, he deserve it.
In first place the movie is well-adapted from the book, maybe in the book you are more aware of the time because of the letter dates, but okay, I enjoyed so far the original story and watching the movie made me feel like when I was reading it adding of course good actors that have made a well played movie. The movie shows so many facts about youth that is hard not to feel identified with some of them. The director is actually the writer of the book, so good point at it. I have to say that I loved this movie so much that I recommend you to watch it.We are infinite
This was beautiful and worth the watch. It was sad, scary and filled with love. This film had a true and real heart.
"Welcome to the island of misfit toys."
Honestly and accurately depicting the angst and turmoil of one's high school years is a real trick, but 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' manages to nail it. It also succeeds in illustrating those important, life-changing moments of true generosity and goodwill that teen movies rarely focus on. Despite Hollywood telling us otherwise, not all teens are smarmy jerks, and some of them can even recognize and respond to the woundedness they see in others by virtue of their own brokenness.
Aw man, it's a great film <3 I think the casting was quite good but they did miss a few things out from the book, but it seems pretty good and you should read the book too! I find Patrick is brilliantly done, Sam not so much but I think with Emma Watson if she continues this feel about her playing the "knowledgeable character" in films it'll fit really well. And Charlie is really cute, and I feel kinda connected with him and it's really sad. Oh man, it's like one of the only films that I cry in the cinema ;__;
The great acting, good soundtrack and solid storyline alone would already make this film a pretty good one. But the depth of the story and background of the characters gives this movie an extra layer that a lot of 'coming of age' movies lack.
First off, the acting is superb. Every character that has some role in this movie, even those without lines, is casted perfectly. The 'bad guys' and 'bullies' are not played out as villains, or stereotypes (except for the no name students.) There is no ultimate good guy, not even the main character. It looks on screen as if the characters hang out outside of their working hours as well. This resulted in the cast behaving so naturally that it didn't feel staged. Having said all that, I have to give a special shout out to Ezra Miller who did such a good job that he probably would have played everyone from the screen whith any other cast.
The storyline is very realistic, even though there are a few turn of events that might make you wonder if you would've done the same. But remember this is a coming of age story, and making mistakes are a big part of growing up. It does not often get predictable. Even the 'does he get the girl' part was not set in stone for me. The first schoolball is probably the most cliché part in the movie, and some of the camera techniques used. But hey this is not an art house film. :PEvery character has it's own complicated background story, but because they do not spell it out for you in full detail it makes the characters more human and appealing. It is as if you are getting to know them while the main character is getting to know them, and the obstacles within himself too.
This realistc setting and chemistry between the actors made me memorize my own time in High school and the friendships I have made there and how we/I used to be. There is a line at the end of the movie that made this even more relevant since realized I thought something along those lines too back in those days:
"I know these will all be stories someday. And our pictures will become old photographs. We'll all become somebody's mom or dad. But right now these moments are not stories. This is happening."
I guess if you had a bad time in High school you wouldn't have had those feelings of course. But in the end it makes saying goodbye (and especially the goodbyes in this movie) more emotional. The characters are aware of the future, and what awaits them. Luckily the movie lets you fill in what could happen afterwards for yourself.
Muy buen mensaje.
Haven't read the book but liked the movie.
no words to describe it .
what a powerful simple movie. i loved every part of it. the message, the fun, the jokes, the music, EVERYTHING. and the cast is amazing.
Amazing movie, this movie is very touching
One of the best amazing movie!
my favorite movie ... I love it very much ... it touches me in a very good way ... I recommend it a lot ..
Le meilleur film que j'ai vu, émotions a sont apogée, juste énorme!
This is one of my favorite movies and books of all time. I've related with Charlie so many times as i read the book and watched the movie, and cried too. Really amazing, recommend.
I never cried watching a movie, until today.
"In this moment, I swear we are infinite." Actually I didn't spent a good time like a movie in my high school age and I always have admired hurtful but joyful days in my adolecence. The film reminded me of the thought again as well as films describing days of high schools. What if I re-attended a school again in a different place? I may spend a similar days again? I'm not so young anymore and may have to think other things. However, it's also important to feel infinity sometimes.
A poignant coming of age story with a sobering twist. Great performances. I gave it an 8 (great) out of 10.
Am in love with Emma Watson
As I haven't read the source novel (yet), I can only speak for the movie. That, however, is a true masterpiece in my opinion. Moving, insightful, thought-provoking and doing a great job at transporting its message. A thing many adaptions tend to - sadly - fail at when moving to the big screen. I could say a lot more here, but to keep it short: one of the best movies I've seen in a long time, if not at all.
“So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm still trying to figure out how that could be.”(The best film I've ever seen in my life)
I think it is my favorite movie, right before "It's kind of funny story".
I was hesitating about watching this movie, but now, i dont have any regrets, it's now one of my favorites movie ever!
and at this moment, i swear....we are infinite
A really heart warming story...
O filme é excelente. Emocionou, muuuito fofo. Bons atores e trilha sonora maravilhosa. Me identifiquei muito, e queria viver tudo aquilo.
Great movie: good plot and excellent acting, awesome movie soundtrack.
Definitely hard not to cry, amazing movie! Just came in a good time.
I absolutely loved this movie. Generally speaking, I am a big "coming of age / life realization" film fan - this one was recommended, however I was blown out the water (technically my home media center) by it awesomeness. I accept this is not a film for everyone, but in my books its up there with the "coming of"greats.
I thought it was a pretty good movie
I absolutely loved this movie!! Definitely on my top movies list!
The book is better.
I loved it.. its so good.. :)
Hope it's good...should be...love Emma...
"I feel infinite"

It was a really nice movie, overall I enjoyed my time! Now I need to read the book. :-)
Great movie. One of the best I have seen in a while.
a pleasant surprise. a really good movie!
This has to be one of my new favourites. Absolutely stunning!
Amazing FilmI recommend it!
Absolutely loved it! I could relate to Logan's character on certain things, and Emma was incredible, adorable, beautiful (and many more), as usual. 1hr 43mins well spent!
Good film, I expected a POS to be honest. Glad I was wrong :)
that was one weird plot twist in the end :O it actually kind of made it better..till then it was just your average "trying to be smart but missing a lot" type of teen movie.
Como não amar?
it's like john hughes is back from the grave. top notch.
