The life of astronauts in this movie.
One of the best movies of the Race to Space... you can't miss it !! There is a before and after seeing it. For space lovers.
The Right Stuff is a classic American epic. It’s long and it feels long but it’s all together a great movie. It’s funny how I didn’t even know about this movie but it’s so iconic. All the training scenes and launches are iconic. The plot is good this movie knows what it is and it delivers. The acting is good the cast is big and there is a lot good performances. It’s directed well by Philip Kaufman. The cinematography is good and the score is fantastic. Overall it’s a well made classic American movie.

I remembered it well, but now I liked it better. Great movie
This revered classic did not connect with me at all. Just plodding along, it felt overbloated. It does make for a decent history lesson, if it actually is accurate at all...

An excellent historically accurate yet fictionalized account of the birth of the United States space program. The fear and paranoia of the Soviet lead in space if well presented here. It seems to be the driving reason for our push and some of the bad decisions along the way. Loved the casting here. All of the fighter jocks show that proper amount of arrogance as well as the rivalry between the branches of service. Special effects were outstanding for 1983, particularly the scenes where John Glenn is orbiting the earth. I thought it was a little awkward where they presented about half of our heroes as womanizers but they did use that theme to show how difficult the training was and how the men came together afterwards. But still, don't think I would have put that stuff in. At over 3 hours in length, it doesn't feel that long but it could have been trimmed quite a bit.
