Not even worth a rating. This one was a DNF. It was a long week and I really just wanted a bad horror movie to watch. This one was just boring. Only made it half way. No regrets on not finishing. It was just not my speed.
I really dont like this movie. So many scenes are dumb and without any logic! Soft horror

At first I thought it was a bad joke that they're were going to remake one of the oldest slashers there is but it's actually not just a cheap DTV effort. Instead of a straight up remake they interweave the first movie into this which is a nice tribute and Alfonso Gomez-Rejon direction gives it an unusual touch. Unfortunately the movie never really gets to bloom and takes the easy way out whereas it could have been the best slasher in quite some time with a a more creative approach.
Apparently they had to cut 15 minutes of the's runtime which is rather sad and also occasionally makes itself noted in the editing. I hope there will be a DC released one day because I'm curious of what's been left in the cutting room.
