I'm not a big fan of vampire films in general but I'm glad when I found a good one. This horror tale centers on a newly married young woman who becomes frustrated and lonely as her husband, a reindeer herder for a small Arctic village, spends so much time away from home in devotion to his work. She seeks the help of a shaman but it comes at a terrible cost. A good ol' be-careful-of-what-you-wish-for story set around Christmas time in a dreamy black and white, leaning heavily on the snowy landscape and atmosphere. There isn't much dialogue but the performance of the lead is very expressive and that definitely makes everything a lot better. I really recommend it for everyone up for something different. It's brief and enjoyable experience. Also on UK Shudder.
