The film was OK, nothing special but quite an enjoyable watch. There were some illogicalities such as the sorceress rarely using magic in combat, and the idea to bring up an army of monsters against professional monster hunters which was not particularly clever. Some fight scenes which are supposed to be very emotional are in fact not, and I was only waiting for them to finish so that I could find out what happened to other characters. The love story between the witcher and his childhood friend is a bit moving, since their relationship survived quite a lot of time. I am not familiar with the animation style used in the movie and I particularly like the painted backgrounds which are very atmospheric and add the magical feel of the world of Sapkowski's Witcher series to the film. I would like to explore the animated-painted world in more depth and maybe a new Witcher game using these visuals would be a good idea.

The 3rd act of this movie is so ugly. Overall, the production is pretty damn good, but that 3rd act really is something else. Everything is too dark and then everything is drowned in too much brown and yellow filters. Other than that, I really liked it. Fast paced - which is usually a downside for me - but all the characters work well enough, especially Vesemir and Illyana. I just wished that they had spent a little bit more time on Tetra and the lore of Kaer Morhen and the world. They sounded much more interesting than the bits we got.

I liked the young visomir so much that if they released a new game of the witcher I would want him to be the protagonist

they really made my boy Geralt bald, for that -2 points, other than that I really liked the animation, big avatar the last airbender vibes but unfortunately they didn't fit enough of the story in the movie, I would've much preferred if it was a 10 episodes series cause this was too rushed, if someone who haven't played the games seen this, it would be pretty much just bunch of cool fighting animations and that's it

If you just accept it as playing out in different universes than the show, books and games it's a good movie with a mediocre soundtrack

Great animation and overall production.
The story feels like it progresses a bit too fast - the movie could have been longer.

It's a decent animated movie. I just expected more, being a fan of the Witcher franchise. Most of the characters were one-dimensional and underdeveloped. They should have stretched the movie out over a short season of a show (like Castlevania) - that would give them time to develop the story properly.

This was a decent side story to the Netflix series. It doesn't really play too much into the witcher franchise - the only recurrent thing being a couple of characters and the lore around witchers. I did like Vesemir, but I find the witchers really sort of have the same personality as gotten by their station in life. The subplot about vesemir and illyana was definitely something I enjoyed. It was sad and really touching.
The end sections of the movie were probably the weakest for me. Tetra definitely needed more development. I wasn't truly clear on her motives that she hates witchers and finds them impure but also would go through with what she did in the film.
Decent but not amazing. The animation quality was also quite average imo.

The antagonists and protagonists switch sides at multiple points in the movie in a very non-cohesive manner with motivations being shoved aside to forge an unsatisfying conclusion. It's like the movie was cut down to fit a strict time-limit and large chunks of relevant character development and plot devices were just dropped as a result.

Kinda hoped for a better story. The animation alone can't carry a movie by itself.

I really like this movie, sheds light now when I watch the 2 seasons on Netflix.

Episode 1x01
I liked the history and animation, but I think that if someone does not know the world of these novels they can lose a bit. Nothing is cut with gore, blood and violence.

Pretty interesting insight into Vesemirs life. Great prequel! Must watch for Witcher fans!

Pretty movie in the Witcher universe about a central character. The pacing is great and the story feels really Witchery. A must watch for fans and a nice fantasy anime for the others.

That little twist, in the end, surprises me.

He tried to escape!!! Mindblown!

First of all, if you don't know a shit about Geralt saga and his videogames, this movie is something like 6-7/10, mostly because I feel like there was no time to get into Tetra's past, the lore of the world and the elder races like elves, the movie thinks you already know how everything works.

On the other hand, if you have already played Witcher 3 at least and have nostalgia like me with Vesemir, know about sorceresses and elves in this world, you will fucking love this movie, especially the ending... 9/10

A bit boring, a bit too manga-y and that sassy Vesemir. Not my style...

A nice bit of backstory to the origins of Vesemir, Geralt’s father figure.

Liked the art which is why I watch it but the dialogue lacked
