This was wonderful. Totally Ghibli/Disney vibe.
Although the story is more childish than I expected, the other world is full of wonders.
It was very similar to Frozen 2 in that the visuals are beautiful but the story isn't cohesive. The water ceremony still hit despite this which was nice but I still wish that they would've worked out the kinks in the story flow. All in all I would recommend, still watchable but only for the art and fantasy concepts and warn that the story isn't 100% there (I've heard others were a bit underwhelmed before I watched but I was mainly interested b/c of the art director).
Like a child's craft necklace of colourful thimbles, plastic beads and painted macaroni on a shoestring, Birthday Wonderland looks nice but is nothing more than a string of random ideas strung together in a clumsy fashion.
