Despite having one of the best scores of any of the Marvel movies, Thor:The Dark World is one of the weakest outings in the Marvel franchise.

The story had potential, but somewhere along the line things got screwed up. Everything feels a bit "chopped up", which again makes things a bit hard to piece together. Sloppy work...
Thor:The Dark World does as many things wrong as the first one did right. Although...it has a few redeeming factors. It looks great, the score is to die for, and we get to see a bit of Jamie Alexander as Lady Sif.
Continuing the second phase of Marvel's cinematic onslaught, begun several months prior with Iron Man 3, Thor's encore solo performance is a markedly stronger, more focused effort than his first. Though Earth still factors into the mix, particularly in the clever, gripping climactic fight scene, there's no mistaking that this is Asgard's story and that clear emphasis, missing from the original, makes a big difference.
As a distinctly fantasy-laden epic, it also benefits from a fresh, authentic flavor that its stable-mates just can't match. There's more to see than smashed skyscrapers and flattened taxi cabs in Thor's world, and that brand of open possibility makes the realm an absolute delight to swallow up.
As visual feasts go, this is at or near the top of the pile - it's gorgeous, innovative and generally unlike anything else in modern cinema, a stuffed bagful of sensory treats. The acting, too, has taken a grand step up since our last trip across the rainbow bridge. Surprisingly, this time Natalie Portman comes across as a clunky third wheel: Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston provide the real intrigue, hammering home Thor's complicated relationship with his conniving adopted brother, Loki.
A fantastically imaginative flick, well-paced and triumphantly acted, that does something its precursor couldn't: whet my appetite for a sequel.

I wonder when the point will come when the "fans" are getting enough of the MARVEL craze.
This one had little effort put into it. Whenever it didn't feel like a video game there was a generic mix of action and often misplaced comedy. We see too little of the villain and his threat to even care, turning him a cardboard-cutout and resulting in a lackluster final fight. But it's not only the bad guy that is rather one dimensional... no one get's developed leaving all the performers looking bored (and Loki is just hiding behind facades).
I really enjoyed Avengers but never really cared much about the standalone movies and this formularic mess doesn't exactly increase my appreciation but looking at most people's rating and the money put down for this we are not yet at the point...
I did expect simply nothing before starting watching because of the comments and hate but I quite enjoyed and I think it was great.
I like all the Asgard setting but the movie is a bit lacking
Feels a bit like LOTR meets Star Wars at times.
The movie feels like a puzzle whos pieces won´t fit yet have been hammered into place. That lovesick behavior doesn´t fit Natalie Portmans character and the whole romance does nothing for me or the movie for that matter. Well, it´s Marvel so it is basically meant to entertain first and maybe have a more or less decent plot second. But as I mentioned in comments on other Marvel movies it is/was becomming a recurring theme - more and grander CGI, less and thinner plots.
But after seeing it again I downgrade it from 7 to 6.
This film is effin gold, why don't you people LOVE it?
Given that the first Thor film was so good, and one of the best Phase One MCU films alongside the first Ironman movie... I had high expectations for this one. I was disappointed that Kenneth Branagh wasn't going to be directing again, but pleased that he would take on a producer role.
Given Marvels consistency so far, I knew that the movie was going to be full of references about things that had happened in the other MCU movies, but not to such a degree that the movie cannot be watched as a stand alone film on it's own merits. In fact the only thing you might be confused about had you not watched any of the others, is the who/why/what about Loki in the beginning. The rest of the characters get a very brief introduction and the narrative opening scenes sets the stage for the movie.
But Marvel knows full well that people watching their movies have seen the rest, and know the backstories. So keeping things short and sweet for those who don't means that we can get straight into the movie right away.
Tom Hiddleston once again shines as Loki, proving what a great actor he is, and what a great choice they made in casting him. He provides virtually of the comedic moments and you know there will always be some scheme, some twist coming with him involved.
I try to avoid spoilers for these movies, in fact all movies that I really want to see. Sometimes I won't even watch a trailer, I want to go in clean, knowing next to nothing about the movie... sometimes to the extent of not knowing some of the casting choices... So I was actually surprised when I recognised the voice of Malekith as Christopher Eccleston, as I didn't know he was in it... and I've always liked him as an actor. He's kinda quirky at times and doesn't get as many movie roles as he should, very good comedic qualities as an actor, but here he plays it straight as the main protagonist and does a decent job.
The rest of the supporting cast does a decent enough job too. Kat Deely as Darcy offers up most of the remaining comedic moments and even gets her own love interest as a minor subplot, although it's shown and dismissed far to quickly simply to provide another comedic moment in the whole Jane/Selvig/Darcy/Mjolnir scene... in fact I created a gif of that scene and tacked on Donkey from Shrek for even more comedic effect.
Anthony Hopkins was a little disappointing this time round, didn't quite convey the gravitas of the first, but it wasn't a poor performance at all... Just a lesser one. Rene Russo actually got a bit more screen time and the audience got an explanation for Loki's powers and training... even got a fight scene, but I feel that was only to provide the emotional side and reaction that sets up the middle act.
The pacing was good, and the extra scenes included on bluray release that weren't in the theatrical one don't bog down the pacing, but at the same time don't add anything extra really... which is a shame.
Hemsworth as Thor did a good job too, and Portman as Jane Foster were both adequate... but simply outshone by Hiddleston who is the real star of this film in my opinion.
It was a shame that the rest of the supporting cast didn't get better material, I'd like to see more of Fandrall, Volstagg, Lady Siff and Hogun... I could even overlook the change of actor for Fandrall (due to Josh Dallas' commitment to the TV show Once upon a time' to Zachary Levi (best know for the TV show Chuck I guess).
The special effects were good, some of the plot points were a little too convenient (like finding your car keys on another planet which conveniently gives you a way of escape and a mode of transport once you get there).
But the overall result is a good one... Not as strong as the first film, but a very good sequel all the same. I think Marvel learned from the poor second Iron Man movie because they haven't really put a foot wrong here, nor did they with Cpt America 2 and Iron Man 3.
For those familiar with the after credits sneak peak... this one supplies two of them. One that's setting up characters for Guardians of the Galaxy (not seen it yet, gotta wait for the bluray release as my summer was rather busy and I don't have a cinema within 20 miles of my home)... the second end of credits is just a silly little jokey one.
Overall I'd give it a solid 8/10, highly recommended and well worth watching more than once as there are loads of little touches to pick up on in later viewings.
What was the timeline of this movie? All the stuff with Jane on Asgard seemed like it took weeks, but then when we see Darcy next she is just figuring out where Selvig is. It seemed like a day, and they talked like it as a short period as well.
Also, where was SHIELD? Given the New York invasion, you think they would be on top of this stuff. Instead they let Selvig (a vital asset at the time of the Avengers) and Jane Foster (the expert in inter-dimensional travel and known interest of Thor's) run around England with no apparent supervision. Jane talks like she didn't like being oppressed by them, but Thor 1 ended with them supporting every aspect of her research. Even if she did escape them, they were just going to let her go and don't bother keeping tabs. Also that air-plane in Agents of Shield seems to be able to go anywhere in the world in a few hours but they don't bother to stop by and check on the anomalies that are clearly effecting London pretty badly. They had weeks to get there (or maybe it was hours, no clue).
I am a terrible nitpicker, these points probably aren't important.
Good enough. It was probably as good as Thor 1, so if you liked that then you will like this just as much.
Loki is the best! Pass it on.
Star Wars style fighters ruined the feel of Asgard as a mythical place. After that I was done. I'm rewatching the 1st three Thor movies to prepare for 3, and now I remember why I rated this one 6
Having not seen this movie when it was first released, despite being a Marvel fan, I had spent all these years being told that its bad (or at best average). Got to say, maybe I'm just living in the afterglow of having a movie pleasantly surprise me by being better than I had been told it was, but I rather liked it. Its main weakness is that Malacath is a pretty boring villain with weak motive, which kept the movie down to a 6 rather than a 7 all on its own since a good villain is very important to a good Superhero movie.
It's movie is chaos and Loki carries it.

I seriously enjoyed 'Thor: The Dark World', with it not only surpassing its predessceor from 2011 but all bar 'Captain America: The First Avenger' in the MCU thus far also. Each to their own, as always, but I found it great.
Loved the score, one of the more memorable ones from the Marvel Cinematic Universe at this point. I also found the pacing to be near perfect, while the humour fits very well. The plot is entertaining.
Chris Hemsworth is great as Thor, while Natalie Portman gives a performance worth noting - unlike in the original. I admit I wasn't overly happy to see Tom Hiddleston appear again, given his character isn't good enough to be in three MCU films, but he is satisfactory here. The rest of the cast are solid, too.
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I love this more and more every time I watch it which is good because I didn't like it the first time. But now I think it's pretty good and definitely has its place in the MCU
I enjoyed this more than the first one (i know that sounds whack), but hey... sometimes that happens. Although the villain in this film is dull and boring. seeing Thor and Loki together and just seeing them interacting made the movie really fun. I think I liked this movie better because Loki has a chance at redemption and it was really interesting to see how he used that chance. finished this at 7:01PM.
Why do people like it? I just don't get it.

For me, the best scenes being the Greenwich scenes, total carnage and destruction rains down on Earth, but, please be quiet in the library as you walk through; typically British!
Thor: The Dark World has Natalie Portman. Unfortunately, that's basically all the movie has going for it and the rest of it's about as mediocre as I expected. In fact, even her role's incredibly boring, and Thor continues to be the dullest Avenger with the script being the worst Marvel's done since the first Thor. Very generic but, of course, I'll still end up watching the next one.
So many things that could be done differently. Again thor is there to fight alone with all the evil while Odin and his 10000 army sits at home and watches.... cmon.....
I am a Natalie Portman fan but she never felt right to me in Thor. Takes too much of a cutsie approach. Like when she found out Thor really was who he said he was in the first "Oh.....My.......god!" Or in this film "sea bass, sea bassy bassy...."
Chris Hemsworth though is under-rated as....a comedian. I mean the guy easily stole the show from women competing on who was funnier in Ghostbusters. He was great in the first film, love the pet store scene. "I need a horse!".
Here he doesn't get that many scenes to be funny. Otherwise he's still a great Thor. I actually really enjoyed the first more. In The Dark World, you get a way weaker villain than Loki. As well as more city destroyed scenes.
The 3rd film just sounds way more promising due to no Jane Foster and in Thor's world throughout.
The end is great. This was pretty whacky at some points but just didn't hit the spot really.
Extra points for a climax set primarily at Greenwich, one of the most stunning shooting locations in Europe.
Sequels are never easy, because the audience will always compare to the first one. So do i; and i say: The first one was much, MUCH better.
The Joke-Parts -except the female assistent-parts- were just aweful. I like Mister Skarsgard, but this overacting was too much.
Natalie Portman can act, but here lines were not the best written parts. Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins and Hiddleston are not just actors - they ARE the chars.
The CGI was good - most of the time. And Thor2 is only(!) an average movie with some great actors, a weird plot, strange pacing by the director and some special effects.
But that all is not enough for a good movie. In the end:

More of the same really, the first one was better with SHIELD and Hawkeye I feel. This felt more like a tribute or something lesser than a true sequel. Still worth the watch but definitely nothing special.

Film 151 (Goal: 300) of 2024:
I've ridden a wave of going between a 2.5 and 3 for this film since the initial viewing. A common theme of this recent MCU rewatch has been that I'm enjoying some of the earlier films that are poorly received (Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World). But I think that streak ends with Thor: The Dark World.
Thor: The Dark World feels like a sequel that's just going through the motions. Once again both Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston shows they're perfect for their roles, returning as both Thor and Loki respectively. The film hinges on their performances. The villain is ultimately forgettable, and doesn't have a clear purpose. Portman sleepwalks through a performance that feels like a contractually obligated necessity. The production is high, as we've come to expect from Marvel Studios films. But that aside, there are very few positives to talk about here.
It's not overly or offensively terrible but it's just boring and unnecessary. When I finally make my way back to post-Endgame films and series, I may find that I have my rankings off and that Thor: The Dark World needs to surpass titles such as Eternals, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, The Marvels, etc. Or maybe I had it right all along, and that Thor: The Dark World is just a blight on the MCU.

So boring and dull that the minute you start to care is when you realise you have no idea what's actually been happening. Took me an hour and 20 minutes to realise iv been waiting for action that's been ragged around for so long it's pointless.
Look, no movie where Thor hangs Mjolnir on a coat rack can be bad.
Thor: The Dark World is a riveting action film that’s full of thrills. As a cosmic alignment approaches, the Dark Elves come out of hiding to take their revenge on Asgard and plunge the Nine Realms into darkness. The film does an impressive job at building and enriching the series mythology, and the special effects are especially well-done and create an interesting visual aesthetic that blends science fiction and fantasy. Also, the action sequences are dynamic and exciting, giving the film a remarkable amount of energy. A fantastic adventure of epic proportion, Thor: The Dark World brings the thunder.
I think this movie is better than it gets credit for. I think stylistically, this is exactly how a Thor movie should be made. The balance between funny and serious, the focus on Norse mythology, the visuals and music, the level of acting quality, it's all top notch. The main thing this movie needed was simply to develop the enemy better. Do that, and it could have been the perfect Thor movie.

Darcy is great, I really like the character. But overall really boring action movie. Story is very uninteresting to me
I still wonder why “Thor: The Dark World” is being remembered as the worst MCU film by so many fans. Sure the villain lacks personality and the plot is all over the place, but isn’t that the case with most MCU films? While still being as bland and mediocre as the first “Thor”, at least it has better pacing and the most convincing Loki characterization in the whole series. In this movie, he shines more than when he was supposed to be the main villain. Thor and Jane's love story still doesn’t convince me though, the more they try to bring them closer the more awkward it feels.
I usually wouldn’t watch this on it’s own, the only time I do actually watch this movie is when I’m taking a trip down memory lane and enjoying the MCU movies in order.
It was fun watching it as I had forgotten the story and seeing it connect with other MCU movies is what makes it worth watching.
First watched this years ago and fell asleep watching it. I rarely fall asleep during films or any tv show but this was so dull, that’s what happened. The fact I was watching all Marvel films in order didn’t help as I had to rewind to see if anything I missed was pertinent to the rest of the films. The only thing I want to add is that why I was and am quite hard on this, is because Thor is the hero in the MCU that has the most potential for EPIC stories. I really wish they would have done more with this. As it stands it's just a forgettable time waster.

The Good:
As a friend of fantasy and science fiction, I admire the way The Dark World delves deeper into Marvel mythology and almost feels like a Tolkien film in places. It also helps to make the MCU feel cosmic in scope. These things aren’t explored gain until the Guardian of the Galaxy and Captain Marvel movies.
Christopher Eccleston is good in a role that doesn't fully allow him to utilize his acting skills. He barely has any lines and does very little other than stand and look menacing.
The most delicious parts of the film are those that force Thor to work with Loki, who once again steals the show. Their on-screen chemistry is admirable and works even better here than in Thor.
The chemistry between Hemsworth and Hiddleston is the best thing this film has to offer. They are very recognizably brothers whose cooperation isn't completely flawless. They still work well together when need be.
This is one of the bleaker and less colourful from within the MCU, but Disney pulls it off far better than Warner Bros. does with the DCEU.
The Bad:
While more screen time for the funny Darcy is always a plus, having both her and Ian as comedic characters make many scenes with them goofy in ways only bad comedies usually are. It feels out of place within MCU, which usually features sharp comedy. This is the first attempt at a comedy in the franchise, but it just doesn't work very well.
This is also the first time the MCU tries to be somewhat darker and gloomier, but it doesn't go in all the way embracing the darkness.
A big bulk of the action is set outside of the Earth, which make the stakes feel less personal for the audience. This is one of the least memorable entries within the MCU, perhaps for that reason.
Malekith is such a film villain cliché that nothing that he does or says feels interesting or menacing in the slightest.
The way The Dark World has been structured makes the story feel like it opens with a first act, followed by a third act, a second act and another third act. That doesn't work to its favour.
The script seems so busy developing plot strands from Thor and The Avengers that it almost seems to forget the main plot with Malekith and the Ether, making them secondary for large parts of the film before the final 30 minutes.
Jonathan Howard is awkward and stiff in most of his scenes and he isn't given anything interesting to do or say throughout the entire film.
The overall plot never goes as deep as it could and seems to lose its way halfway through, ultimately feeling like a rehash of Thor and just another predictable superhero flick by the end.
The Ugly:

THIS IS THE TRUE WAY TO VIEW IT. THE DARK ELVES ARE BADASS, LOVED THE BIG BATTLE IN ASGARD AND THAT END FIGHT AROUND THE REALMS WAS JUST SPECTACULAR, SIMPLY SPECTACULAR.

NUMBER ONE BUT I UNDERSTAND THAT THING'S HAD TO GET DONE IN THIS ONE, BUT I WOULD BE LYING IF I SAID I DIDN'T MISS THE LAUGHS FROM 1 AND DACY STEALING THE SHOW.
BUT I DO THINK THIS WAS A SMOOTHER BETTER RUNNING INSTALLMENT THAN 1 ALTHOUGH I STILL GIVE IT THE EXACT SAME RATING 8/10

Which is a shame, because other than that, it's pretty entertaining. Decent action scenes, many funny moments, a good cast, brilliant CGI, not a bad story telling either... If only it wasn't so very dumb :weary:

[MCU Rewatch Review]
Asgard, Darkness, The Reality Stone, Loki in prision: it have all the elements to deliver a very great movie and they just throw it away with a simple plot and unfunny jokes. Not that complete tragedy though, it's watchable and very important to the Infinity saga.
Look, there always has to be one.
Thor: The Dark World suffers from the same problem that most bad comic book movies do it is simply forgettable, this is the worst type of film to write about because I have noting to say. Far from being insultingly bad but also far from being any good. Honestly if you ever plan on cramming these films again do yourself a favour and skip this one.
I won't waste too many words on this film. If you want to see total destruction, definitely check this sequel. Because apart from the destruction of Greenwich, and the occasional scenes with Loki, this fantasy/sci-fi flick offers nothing to write home for.
What do we remember? That Jane Foster is only good for the looks, for the rest you notice that she behaves like some kind of Alice in an alien Wonderland. Feel free to call this film Jane in Dark-Elf-land.
From the Dark Elfs we remember that they just want to destroy everything. But we have no idea why they want that... I can understand that they want to destroy Asgard out of revenge. But shroud the entire universe in eternal darkness to then rule over ... nothing? Would you care to explain that to me?
Then we remember that the security of Asgard's prison is terribly weak. I mean especially that the prisoners are not even searched properly.... Because how exactly could that Kursed escape just like that?
Finally, we remember how the Aether or Reality Stone ended up in the Collector's possession. There you are, that's all folks, now it's time to watch some decent films.
This was so unneeded — it added nothing to the MCU timeline that Avengers hadn’t already! Only part I appreciated was Frigga’s iconic fight scene.
The reaction to this movie seems to be love it or hate it. I think I fall just left of the middle. Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and Anthony Hopkins are iconic in their roles. Zach Levi won us over as Fandral and it was so good to have more time with the warriors four (with their borrowed UK accents) and Jaimie Alexander is the perfect Lady Sif. Idris Alba (a superb actor) was, finally, allowed more scope to personalize his role, and that was an improvement from the first movie. I am a huge fan of Natalie Portman, and believe her to be a fine actress, but there was just something missing between Jane and Thor (there was actually more chemistry between Thor and the woman on The Tube - which made me wonder if they had cast Chris' wife - and that scene was only 24 seconds long*). And, I can't leave a discussion about the acting without a shout out to Kat Dennings who just proves that the size of the part does not define the greatness of the performance. The movie had a heightened sense of grandeur (The Old Royal Naval College was a huge asset to the filming) giving us, almost, grand LORD OF THE RINGS moments in the battle scenes and, yet, I found the award worthy CGI was overused elsewhere in the movie, which causes a disconnect from the audience. Even on rewatching, I think it could have been superb, but I can only give this film a 7 (good) out of 10. [Marvel Action Adventure]
Loki as always keeps the plot together to the end. Nice trick with that Thor in title of the movie, as he would be the man of the show ;>
Fanboys are the reason this movie has great reviews! It's the same fanboys that like a YouTube video before watching it! This movie is poor at best, weak generic story. Science that makes even the most illiterate see the bullshit in it! No way I'd rewatch this crap
It's not a great movie but it could be worse. The story is kinda meh and so is the villain. The acting is alright. Jane is kind of just there. Kat Dennings is great as the comic relief. Tom Hiddleston is great as Loki again, I see why they keep bringing him back. The special effects are pretty good and the costume designs of the dark elves is really good. The actions scenes are entertaining. It may be one of the worse MCU movies but overall it's a fine time killer movie.
I thought they'all thought Loki died/missing from Thor ending where he was actually manipulating Erik back in Earth?

Though it arguably may be Marvel Studio's weakest film of their 20+ title M.C.U., it's still stronger than the best D.C.E.U. film made, as well as better than most "super-hero" movies around.

This second Thor movie--and one of the countless Marvel flicks in recent years--is very gripping and features amazing performances, especially from Natalie Portman, whose role is much different than in the Star Wars prequels, and Kat Dennings. Fans of comic book films expect action, adventure, and heroism, and they get plenty of that here. Thor himself is as likable and gentlemanly as ever, and the various villains are utterly despicable, which is kind of the point. The ending knocked my socks off. As superhero fantasies go, this is probably among the best I've seen, not to mention the cleanest; while there's plenty of violence, it isn't graphic, kissing and one stray remark is about as sexual as it gets, and profanity is kept to a minimum...for a "PG-13," anyway. If you enjoyed the first Thor flick and the other films featuring the Avengers, this is for you. Just be sure you stay tuned after the credits.

Frightening/Intense Scenes: Along with the violence, some of the otherworldly creatures are rather scary, and there is some emotional intensity after two different characters' deaths. 1/5
Other: While not exactly negative, characters speaking in an alien language with English subtitles may cause problems for those with reading disabilities. 4/5

All in all this isn't a masterpiece but it's entertaining viewing throughout.
Absolutely hated the first Thor movie, that's why it took me more than 2 years after its release to see the sequel.
But I must say, it really surprised me. IN A GOOD WAY! It is a great movie to pass some time, has a great cameo in it that makes you laugh Marvel Style, and some of the characters evolved way more than I expected.
Set after the events of Avengers Assemble (UK Title) and unfortunately Original Thor director Kenneth Branagh doesn't return, instead handing over the directing duties to Alan Taylor (Mad Men, Homicide Life on the Street and Terminator Genisys) giving us a darker more livid version of Thor, the set design for Asgard a sight to behold, at times the script feels alittle all over the place but this version is entertaining, some superb visual effects and comic fun provided by Stellan Skarsgård are the highlights. Be nice see what director Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows) brings us in Thor Ragnarok. In ending, Thor Dark World is a nice change of pace from the original, entertaining and fun and actually melds nicely into Age of Ultron, watch and be entertained if nothing else

As entertainment goes, this movie ranks quite high, but I have come to expect quite a lot from Marvels outings, and this one just don't reach the heights of the others...

It's alright. Better than the first Thor but not by much.
Given that Thor is now fully embraced by mainstream audiences, here the sequel seems keen to fully immerse itself in the world and as a result the science-fiction/fantasy elements are much more to the fore here. This is a necessary and welcome change as it helps to differentiate the Thor series from the other Marvel heroes. So after a rather clunky prologue which vaguely attempts to set up the plot, we get a much better exploration of the world of Asguard, beautifully realised, and some of the other realms. The plot it has to be said is rather incomprehensible, but fortunately the filmmakers also remembers what worked so well in the first film, never taking itself too seriously and providing a lot of humour amidst all the serious scenes about destroying the universe. A cameo from one of the Avengers is a classic example of the film's ability to have a little bit of fun with its premise and the returning human characters all play off each other nicely, with Portman having a more involved role this time. Hiddleston and Hemsworth as the bickering brothers continue to be the best element of the film and it is little wonder that Marvel wanted Loki to carry over from The Avengers. Nor does the final moment of the film surprise, yet it does leave you anticipating the inevitable third film. A side note, however - Marvel's penchant for killing minor characters to underline the threat or shock the audience is already wearing thin - at some point they are going to have to shake up the world they have created and kill off some of the actual major characters if they want to truly surprise.

Better than singles, funny, with nice allusions to the fans of Marvel, and of faultless Tom Hiddleston! I surprised positively.
Yeah, I loved the hell out of this one. Freya = all the feels, Sif = set-up for future triangle, Loki = perfectly Loki, great cameos, and Dr. Erik Selvig is one of my favorite characters period. "Best get some pants then." And, y'know, Hemsworth actually has some chemistry with Portman... why didn't he portray Anakin again? (Goes without saying that I continue to love Hemsworth as Thor. And Idris Elba as Heimdall is just the best.)

Another entertaining movie from Marvel. Filled with enough plot twists to keep it interesting and Hiddleston kills it as Loki, so there's that to look forward to. Fun movie to watch!
Thor 2 was an awesome film, but not as good as it had the potential to be. Tom Hiddleston was menacing as always and his portrayal of Loki makes this film worth watching. The script does not really have any substance.
I don't understand. I actually thought this movie was miles better than the first. I actually rate it as one of the better marvel flicks. Better than iron man 2 and cap America.

Biggest plot twist at the end
The romance between Jane and Thor was better scripted in this movie. The storyline was a little hard to follow, especially the part about why Thor never visited her in 2 years......
I did not expect the little twist in the ending - I definitely enjoyed that.
