A conspiracy thriller that doesn't demand too much thinking. A pity that talent like Faye Dunaway is wasted on playing the helpless love interest.
Recorded this move because I'd heard of it, but never seen it. Wasn't sure I wanted to invest the effort in it, so it sat unwatched for a while, but one extra boring evening, when I started watching it with the wife, knew it would only be a matter of time before the complaining started. :) But, after hanging in there a bit, got interesting pretty quick and we stuck with it. It seemed to be a pioneer of what would be many, more modern, conspiracy-romance-twist type movies to come. Robert Redford - very cool in his day.
Seeing this decades after post-Watergate paranoia helped make it a box office success, you’re left with an above average spy thriller starring Redford and Dunaway at the height of their powers set to a jazzy soundtrack by Dave Grusin. Far worse ways to spend an evening. Enjoyed it thoroughly.
"Three Days of the Condor" is a good conspiracy/thriller with very good suspense but a very questionable ending. The film really takes you for a ride in the first half but as the movie continues the suspense starts to fade away. Although "Three Days of the Condor" is considered a classic 70's thriller, this film is not the best compared to other 70's classics of this genre. If you like conspiracy thrillers check it out..if not you might want to see something else.
This is a very good film but, as in most cases, the original novel (Six Days of the Condor) is better. Neither are perfect, but the story is well told. I prefer the motivations of the novel to the film though.
It starts off good, then it gets worse. Faye Dunaway's plot doesn't make sense, as she stays alive, either
Captain America The Winter Soldier ripped off this movie big time.
Every story is just as good as its weakest part. And the weak part here was the romance. When they went to bed together and the girl started to help him it hit rock bottom. Shame because it would have not have been needed and it would have been a way better story without it.

I miss movies of this era. The feel, look and simplicity of telling a story in a complicated way. What? no CGI monsters? i'm okay with that.
I like the tones of Information theory/ Information processing theory that the movie brings up.
i did come here, after seeing this movie referenced in S4 of Mr. Robot
