Transformers One 2024

Quite amazing, almost perfect and a near religious experience for me. Nearly forty years of this scrap has been around my life and to see it done justice on the big screen warms my soul.

Amazingly done animation and truly feels like the Cybertron universe. The Transformers origin story we have been waiting for, and not to spoil it for anyone but loved the development of the story and characters. Comedy, Action, and the right amount of Transformers flavor to make this a very enjoyable movie.

Should not be missed and I can't wait for the next movie, we want more.

Transformer One is nothing short of amazing, enchanting even. I'm not kidding when I say that this movie was so good that I was memserized, and I barely qualify as a Transformers fan! This movie succeeds where many, MANY other movie have failed this past year. The storytelling done in this movie checks near every box on what makes a story good: intriguing (and somewhat amusing) exposition, clear character motivation, absolutely steller character growth, great acting, and compelling world-building, to name a few. I'm extremely tempted to call this the "Spider-verse" of Transformers, but I think I'm getting ahead of myself. What I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, is that this movie does NOT deserve the 5 that IGN gave it. Shame on them but also not surprising.

This had no right to be as good as it was. The score was brilliant from the first few seconds, Brian Tyler always delivers a great action movie soundtrack. The story is most clearly driven by the two main characters, and although the plot itself is a little lacklustre, it is forgiven by the dynamic of the relationship of the two leads. I knew nothing about this movie going in aside the cast, and I can say I was not disappointed.

Peak formers. Just watch it it's amazing

I don't know what you think, but I think it's the worst Transformers movie I've ever watched. The worst part is that they're gradually making the movie more human. I had high expectations. It's not so bad that I can't watch it, but I couldn't stand it. The stories, acting, and pacing were much worse in the old movies. Anyway, enjoy watching.

I'd be giving 8/10 because why it isnt a live-action film?

Better storyline than anything in the Michael Bay movies, and somehow the action was still just as good (probably a few less explosions tho)

X-Men: First Class for Transformers fans.

The best animated movie this year, and in a very long time. The only other that comes to mind would be Spider-Verse. I say that because the animation is hypnotic and insanely refreshing. From the little details like shine to the big, like design. It's always changing, transforming with vibrant but not overdone colours. After seeing the cast, I wasn't too sure but every single voice was engaging to the max and the score and sounds knew what to do. It got dark, funny, relatable, sad, sassy, silly, loving, and felt like therapy. I love Transformers, not so much the movies but this is my new favourite. Those sequences and the title? I can't wait for two.

It mashes together various Transformers mythologies to create its own, and the references are a treat for the fans. However, I do wish they'd played it straight more often (even though they did for most of the latter half), but it's a kid's movie in 2024; they don't make them the same as they used to.

Still, it was a fun time. I hope it makes enough money to get a sequel, because I'd like to see a Year One type of movie.

Now I understand how Orion Pax and Megatron were friends.

This movie was really good. I would have liked it to run a little longer but overall, it stuck its landing in my book. I hope that this is the origin that becomes the official Hasbro cannon for the universe.

AS A MOVIE: The voice acting was spot-on and not one character felt out of place. The plotting and direction was also great. The film "moves" and does not stay "stuck" in one moment like a lot of animated films suffer from. The 3D color pallet was also very good

AS TRANSFORMERS LORE: What can I say without spoiling it - The most important thing to me in a Transformers film is making them not feel like robots pretending to be human but actually autonomous lifeforms with their own social behavior patterns. And this movie nails that aspect. Once they got that part right, everything else is gravy. For such a deep lore. it does an AMAZING job of explaining everything without a lot of over-exposition. You learn very quickly who all the players are and what their motivations are. The fact that if you know nothing of Transformers lore, you will still enjoy this film immensely.

I really enjoyed this movie. Great animation and action. Lots of fun. The best one as compared to the many horrible live action movies

Well I don't like Transformers, because nothing makes any sense, like ever... But that is an amazing movie!

Sure there's still a lot of non-sense, but that does not deserve too much the movie and its rhythm.

The main thing that annoys me is that Orion Pax is given the new name Optimus out of the blue, no explanation, and no real need to change his name, beside adding the "Prime" he deserved...
Same with "Autobots" it's just catapulted at the end...

I really want to see a sequel

Pretty good vision.Good animation, the voice actors are strong and show off the emotions of the characters, dynamic action scenes, and genuinely funny, but a little bit noisy.

ok... wow, it was really good. Except maybe the third act. Megatron's heel turn happened a bit too drastically at the end. I like how they were slowly building up his motivation, his anger. But anger suddenly turned to evil. That bit was a bit too sudden The ads made it feel like it's a kid's movie. Yes, it's kid friendly but it's also targetted at Gen X and older millennials.

My favourite line in the movie is Alita's reply to Orion's "Feeling like I have enough power in me to drill down and touch Primus myself". I won't spoil what Alita said, but pay attention in the movie. It's fan-service gold!

The plot is rather obvious from the go, but it is a PG film, so I'm not the main audience, I suppose. That aside, a really solid film.

B-127's voice is so awful and crazy..........:sweat_smile:and then it's Thor and Black widow from Marvel.

A great fresh story to bring more life to the franchise. Good action sequences and OST.

I’ve always thought that there’s no way to make the Tranformers concept interesting for an adult, especially one that didn’t grow up with the original animated series. The critical reviews for Transformers One hinted that they might’ve cracked that code, and while there’s more integrity to this than Bayformers, I got very little out of it. It’s clearly aimed at kids, which is completely fine, but it’s all a little too unremarkable to be compelling beyond that demographic. Very generic, predictable story that does’t try to dig all that deep emotionally and a lot of kid friendly humour. The animation is easily its best selling point, and there are definitely a couple of fun, colourful set pieces because of its stylistic choices, however the poorly designed character models are hard to connect with on an emotional level. The weak character writing and celebrity voice acting aren’t doing any favours in that regard either. At the very least it retires this narrative that these type of movies are usually bad because they focus too much on the human characters. There’s not a single human in sight here and there’s just as little to care about.

4/10

Kids and myself alike both enjoyed this way more than expected.

Before Optimus Prime, there was Orion freakin Pax.

This movie nails it—great premise, slick animation, exciting action, and a fun Bumblebee. It’s the best thing to happen to the Transformers franchise in a while and deserves a standing ovation. I regret missing it in theaters, especially since it got overshadowed by a lesser film. But I thoroughly enjoyed it and won’t miss any future prequels if they come (fingers crossed).

The backstory of Optimus Prime and Megatron has always intrigued me across the many Transformers shows, reboots, and movies. Transformers One answers this perfectly by exploring their early lives as Orion Pax and D-16, depicting their friendship before becoming leaders of the Autobots and Decepticons. Orion Pax is a rebellious bot driven by a desire for change, whereas D-16 prefers to uphold the status quo. Although D-16's transformation into Megatron may seem rushed, it is clearly impactful. As betrayal and injustice arise, their reactions diverge: Orion clings to his moral principles in his pursuit of change, while D-16 resorts to violence to combat oppression, ultimately becoming Megatron. The film emphasizes the tragic consequences of their opposing ideologies that ultimately tear them apart.

Finally a good Transformers movie with no humans. Sadly, it was replaced with some truly awful voice acting; not all bad, but damn, Optimus Prime's voice sounds so forced.

A surprisingly funny and fun romp through a Cybertron we've never seen before. Fun for all ages!

"My finger can transform, guess which one?"

I was never a huge Transformers fan but always have fun with transformation scenes. So I had zero expectations going into this and once again animation has proven to us that it is the perfect way to tell new stories. This was so much fun and the art direction is beautiful. I usually hate prequels that explain how someone became bad but they did this so well!

Transformers One brings vibes from the original 80’s movie in its action sequences but the humour and heart of a Pixar movie. Fantastic for kids and fans of the other movies, we truly hope this is the direction of the brand going forward! This is a great example of the trailer not doing the film justice, don’t be put off and go see it on the biggest screen you can find.

An entertaining backstory that goes how you expect. Especially with the Optimus and Megatron friendship. Though this is basically the movie I wanted the Live action movies to be.
All Transformers, no humans. That probably would have cost too much money to make. If you enjoyed the Transformers animated film from the 80’s. You’ll probably love this.
Bumblebee with his voice is pretty much Michelangelo. Which of course is half enjoyable, half annoying.
