Tread 2020

Been watching a lot of these types of documentaries over the years, and I'm always absolutely fascinated by how many of the people who end up going on rampages like this say some variant of: "if only someone, anyone, had done anything to try and stop me, I would have stopped".

It's just crazy, how far you can push someone ... and how far they'll push back.

A documentary unlike anything I've ever seen. It's both riveting and chilling to witness how the central figure meticulously planned and executed his actions. The level of forethought and preparation is almost scary. This film provides a unique exploration of his mindset and the events that led to an extraordinary act.

I'd remembered hearing about this very briefly in the news when it happened, but just that some dude drive a bulldozer into some buildings. Here you get a much fuller, richer, and unhinged look at what happened and what led up to this bonkers event. What starts as a normal documentary often takes on the feel of a tense horror film, building and building to what you know will be a culminating scene of decimation. I was locked in from the beginning and thought this was a fascinating look back at this unique event and the deranged mind of the man who perpetrated it.

Makes a great story boring by plodding around too much and not defining a narrative, the audio clips are also hard to understand, the best parts are the dramatizations
