I was prepared for the worst, turns out it's a totally fun film. It even tops the original in my opinion. The fact that this is a direct-to-video sequel make me appreciate more. It delivers the prefect tone for a light-hearted, action-orientated small B-horror. The violence may be toned down this time around but the effects work remains strong and it has this cheesy low budget charm to it that I love. I think it's more inventive and clever and doesn't feel same-y like most creature feature sequel does. It keeps its story moving by not only changing the setting and adding a few more characters in the mix but also offering evolutionary changes to the creatures that keeps you in suspense from a new and unexpected threat. Michael Gross is back as awesome Burt Gummer.
Being a sequel, it was never going to be as good as its predecessor, but it was still an enjoyable movie.
A few characters from the first instalment made it into the second, but not all. I can only assume that some didn’t want to carry on with the series.
It was amusing and having not seen the second one until now, I did not expect the evolutionary thing. However, this does now beg the question as to what the next movies are going to bring to the table. :rofl:

Didn't know that Tremors had sequels, turns out they are 5 (!) Tremor movies, latest in 2015. For me that was horror movie from my childhood. Now I have to watch them all! :D
This part was more light, adventure - comedy, wouldn't call it horror.
Besides some poor early CGI, this is actually a decently fun follow up, especially for a straight-to-video one from Universal. The monsters aren't as effective or scary, but they get some mileage. The Burt character is entertaining as hell. They also have decent reasons for certain characters not returning.
