You know, this movie holds up pretty well.
I've seen it in the cinema 5 years ago and just again now. Still highly entertaining, fantastic and imaginative action sequences and just lots of fun from start to end.
Those butt-hurt by the "bad comic adaptation" can kiss my ass, just enjoy it for what it is - a nice action movie that doesn't take itself too seriously.
Still looking forward to the sequel. :]
started off well, by the end i wanted someone to assassinate me god dang the pain of this movie
A fun action movie, without much logic. Still enjoyable.
Wow I didn't Realize Chris Pratt was in this film...
A movie with an unlikable main character, A-list stars that add nothing of value. The plot is incredibly simple and was seen many times before. The end is rushed. There's nothing of merit for this movie.
What purpose do Morgen Freeman and Angelina Jolie serve here? Other than drawing in the fans? Nothing.
Exchange Jolie and Freeman, would you still watch the movie? Some probably, the majority most likely would not.
Wanted is a forgettable movie and one of the worst in a loong, long time I've seen.
assassin's creed with guns and even worse physics??
One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Even Morgan Freeman can't save it.
can't downrate this enough
I like Wanted. It looks great with action scenes that rather unique and are largely very exciting. Overall decent acting with James McAvoy being the standout. And even though it is very loosely connected to the comic by the same name, Wanted captures some of the feels from it. Overall a good and entertaining movie.
Or...
It might just be because of Angelina Jolie and her incredible ass!!
Either way, it's worth the watch.
I love this movie. It's ALWAYS fun regardless of the massive missteps it makes along the way. A blast to watch. Don't mind those other reviews.
Cause I've wanted...waaaaaanteeeeed... head from Jolieeeeee
Great Movie, not as good as the comics, but a great movie.
An easily missable and forgettable semi-supernatural (bullet bending, some kind of adrenaline ESP, and other assassin magic) action flick that is actually better than it seems. On the second viewing, I found a direct giveaway to the main twist half an hour into the movie. It's not hidden, but neither is attention called to it. Just a quick little shot that will make you go "huh?" and then it moves on. I also found a reference to the writers, "J.G. Millar" at the end (on a cubicle, a reference to J.G. Jones and Mark Millar). There are probably other little things hidden throughout that are less obvious than, say, the words on the bullets that are made obvious (and what the keyboard keys spell). The movie may try to be a little more clever than it was by aping Fight Club with the monologues, but it never holds itself out as a serious film. It's a witty action flick not unlike the Fast/Furious films (and it has its fair share of car stunts, too, and some Dom hasn't done yet) but with assassins. It may not be a Best Picture winner and it may not have made IMDb Top 250, but you could do a lot worse on a Friday night.
Predictable with the Vader plot twist (when the "YOU'RE MY SON" line happened I shouted "NO SHIT"), a tad weird and not really reliable as a source to learn physics as this movie is, I still enjoyed the action a lot and it made me love McAvoy even more than I did before I watched this movie.
I love this movie. No idea where the hate comes from.
This movie is brilliant. A lot of viewers get hung up on the superficial -- things like bullet bending or secret orders. To me, that's sort of missing the point. At its core, this movie is the story of the evolution of an asshole. The original writer's M.O. is to twist or invert superhero tropes. Wanted is Spiderman but "with great power comes ... you can do whatever the fuck you want" - Wesley Gibson is Mega Asshole Peter Parker. He starts off as a doormat and by the time the movie ends, he basically ruins everything around him and disses the audience in the series' signature 4th wall break. And it doesn't end there - the story picks up in the video game (of all places) where he completes his evolution, ruins even more things and basically becomes the comic book version of the character - mask and all. The sheer brilliance of this adaptation beyond transmedia storytelling is how at the very end, Wesley insults the piety of his parents and basically calls out the Loom - the revered plot device in the lore of the movie - for being a fuckton of bullshit. And in the PC version of the game, it concludes with him urinating on the face of his final adversary. Which is what I've done to you for reading this comment.
Wanted is an ultra-violent action film that delivers a high-energy, sci-fi adventure. The story follows Wesley Gibson who joins a fraternity of assassins after learning that his father was killed by one of their members that has gone rogue. Starring James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie, and Morgan Freeman, the cast is pretty strong and gives some good performances. The plot is rather outlandish, but it’s also a lot of fun. And the special effects work is amazing, delivering some really incredible scenes. With wildly over-the-top action, Wanted makes for a remarkably entertaining guilty-pleasure.
The most unrealistic part of the movie is that they need James McAvoy to be the hero even tho they already have Angelina Jolie, smh
I loved it!
It's completely unrealistic and over the top but it's friggin' awesome :)
Camera work and special effects are cool, the setting is sweet, the actors are great and the action is plenty.
The story is nice but simple and makes sense but it won't win any Oscars, and that doesn't even matter. It's just a cool movie to watch.
The CGI in this movie really hasn't aged well.
A silly stylish action film and has to be watched as such. In the last half of the film the plot stops to make sense, but the bullet-bending and overall action sequences are nice, save for the rambo part of it.
second time watching and still look fun
This really isn't a superhero comic adaptation...it's The Matrix with a great sense of humor. Enjoy it.
Truñaco de proporciones bíblicas . Un sinsentido de principio a fin.
I don't know why exactly I didn't like this flick: it had a beautiful actress, gorgeous cars and a fast-pacing plot but I just didn't like the overall feeling this movie has...
Entertaining throughout even though the first half is a lot more interesting than the second half.
I like fantasy movies, and i liked the end :) thought will be squishy, but was pretty well( just soo bad that Fox died) because of that 9 :)
Here is an example of when a movie adaptation strays from the source material and it pays off. The original comic was all about super villains that had taken over the world and killed off all of the heroes. This movie is way more thought out.
Great action movie that trades the tights and dimension hopping for a secret organization of assassins and a "Loom of Fate".
The film that makes JAMES MCAVOY's career. Who wouldn't relish kicking ANGELINA JOLIE's butt? :P

If you try to apply logic or physics to "Wanted", you'll get a migraine headache. If you want a fun rollercoaster ride that's over quick, strap yourself in and watch "Wanted". I enjoyed it start to finish.
