I found the book at Target in like 2008. I loved it and thought “this needs to be a movie!” Then I found out there were 4 movies. I found this one on cable and very disappointed in how much it changed the book. Travis (Corey Haim) is supposed to be in his 30’s or 40’s and an ex soldier. Instead Travis is played by the late Corey Haim with big hair and as a teenager. Who lives with his mom Nora. Nora by the way is the name of his lover interest in the book. So it’s a little weird that they made her his mom instead. They also made Lem (Michael Ironside) the detective on the case. A nutball and killer. Book Spoiler: When if I remember he was pretty much on Travis’ side and let’s him keep Einstein in the book. Netflix needs to reboot this as a mini-series, now.
