Wild 2014

Very good movie. Makes you think afterwards.

Finally got around to checking this one out. Enjoyed it overall. Some slow moments that didn't connect, but a great performance by RW. 7.3 for me.

Lose a boot off a mountain, and scream while throwing your other boot off. lol This film was great, and also sad, and it took you on an adventure with a woman clearing her head from the problems in the past. 6/10

Watch this movie alone, in your own free time, without being disturbed by anything or anyone else. Pause and take a break if you feel like it. This is such a great movie. Beautiful scenery accompanied by the inner monologue of someone rebooting their life. Reese Witherspoon delivers an epic performance. I don’t recall seeing her playing a role like in any of her previous movies.

A fairly quiet, understated film which will make you reflect on life. It's quite rewatchable when you want something a bit meditative . Not for everyone though.

Two movies in one - a hiker learning as she walks a thousand miles, and a women retelling her violent upbringing and recent traumas

The problem is even combined they are not 1hr 55min. It's hugely reflective, and the scenery is a major part, so it's never going to be a fast paced movie, but it really stretched out a long way to what I think was the detriment of the movie (to be fair, I often think that)

80% of the movie is centred around Witherspoons character, and as expected from an actor of her standing, she delivered in a range of emotional states. The movie could easily have been a complete fail without her

I don't really know who I would recommend this too.

nice movie, the only thing that bothered me is how unlikeable the main character was, also she's really bad of a hiker

I really wanted to like this movie more than it did. I have a friend that read the book but had not seen the movie - she recommended the movie based on the story. The movie felt like it was more about a woman surviving out in the wild than a woman trying to find redemption.

Pretty good movie... not a lot of action.. as in none, but it keeps you absorbed in the story.
Why anyone would want to make that trip alone is beyond my comprehension, even more so as a woman.

At the time that I watched this I didn’t write a review but since then I have recommended this movie to quite a few people so obviously it has stick with me. While I would never do what this character did, go on a ‘walk-about’ to find yourself, I certainly see the appeal of it. I think forcing oneself to hyper focus inwardly to cause a change or self-discovery is super valuable. Do you have to expose yourself to such danger, well I guess for some people that’s necessary.

I was honestly expecting more from this movie. The shots are quite good though. What the actual Cheryl experienced is horrible and good at the same time, but the movie didn't feel that amazing…

I love Reese Witherspoon but I don't love all her movies. I found this one a beautiful picture but not very touching (and I think plot can be used for making a very touching film). I agree with her Oscar nomination but definitely she didn't have a chance against Pike and Moore.
