Witness for the Prosecution 1982

Surprisingly good. What Wilder and company played for laughs, Gibson and his team played straight, and it was thoroughly effective. Diana Rigg did a nice job of creating her own subtle version of what was clearly Marlene Dietrich's interpretation of Christine. While Ralph Richardson and Deborah Kerr lack the chemistry of Charles Laughton and Elsa Lanchester, both bring depth and craft to their roles.
