A bit weird and very very kitsch, even for the time I think. Most of the dialogues are really bad, and lots are pretty misogynistic in a very stupid way.
The presentation made it seems more poetic and focused on the guy's desire or fascination for death, but apart from the very beginning when he tries to hang himself in the cabin, he actually refuses to die, despite having several opportunities.
There are several sub plots sequentially, mostly absurd.
We start with this woman who tries to poison the main character because she doesn't want to die alone. It fails.
He then meets a very persistent book seller who wants to sell his book on how the will to live is stronger than anything. As proof he is still talking about his book after being accidentally stabbed, then buried, then burned, even as a skeleton.
His friend brings him to a cave to collect a skeleton for the archaeologist he's working for. They get it out despite the fact that bags are checked at the exit by saying "we wanted to bury his mother but couldn't find a spot". Wtf.
The skeleton then turns into a woman when it rains on it. Hoping he had set all the bones in the right places on the table before it happens. She died 2000 years ago but was promised to revive then, and needs to eat a human liver so she does not revert back to being a skeleton. He doesn't let her kill anybody, and despite supposedly wanting to die, does not offer his, so she just turns back into a skeleton. Like that was a normal thing. Wtf bis.
During her living time, there is a very weird scene where out of nowhere he brings a cake making machine (makes some naan looking things) that just throws a naan every 15 seconds. She seduces him, leaning closer to kiss him then have sex, all the while being showered by naans landing on them every few seconds. Wtf ter.
There's then coming out of nowhere (unless I fell asleep) someone killing people and sending decapitated heads to the archaeologist, the archaeologist wanting him to sleep with his daughter ("What ? You didn't fuck my daughter on the camping trip ? What is wrong with you ?"), the daughter falling in love and wanting to die with him, and in the end people killing him but he still doesn't die even decapitated as he has the strong will to live.
There are some weird ideas that could have been good, but it's messy, with very bad dialogues so that I probably stopped following and/or fell asleep several times, though it could also be that the explanation or links between the plots were just not ever given.
