well this is really boring. i dont like ani at all so far, and having her narrating everything is making it even worse. at least bryce is finally dead tho
I hope the season isn't setting us up to feel guilty for Bryce. He's a rapist and an evil being. He deserves everything bad he gets.
You know, I spent half this episode wondering what was even the point of introducing this new character. Why couldn't Clay carry on as the story's narrator? He's still very much at the center of everything evidenced by the fact that Ani seems to always be where he is (which, let's be real, adding a COMPLETE STRANGER to your inner circle and letting her know all the secrets makes NO sense whatsoever). Plus, it's awkward and not realistic for her to be at the center of everything out of nowhere.
And then, an Ani/Bryce scene popped up, and I realized she's basically a plot device. The writers didn't know how to present Bryce's side of the story and convincingly make him seem contrite and regretful, and so they created a brand new character, who is objective, since she hasn't been involved in any of the season 1 and 2 mess, to facilitate it. And that's probably one of the reasons I dislike her so much. To me she's completely pointless because I'll never accept Bryce can be redeemed. He's a disgusting, garbage character and doesn't deserve anyone's sympathy. If it wasn't for that, Clay could easily have been this season's narrator.
On a completely different note, I've noticed we're back to the season 1 warm/cold transitions between past and present. I'd missed that. I also miss Hannah. So much. This show was good when she was a part of it. I cared about her, so I cared what happend in the show. This is shaping up to be the Ani/Bryce season, and honestly, I couldn't care less about any of them.
Well, the good thing is that Chloe actually went through with the abortion and that they kept the clinic scene real.
But I can't believe Ani is actually narrating this whole season. Makes me wonder how I'll get through it... Her narration is so awkward and pseudo-deep and try-hard, and she's ridiculously nosy.
It also seems like they'll really go down the "Bryce was a victim, too!" route and I'm not having any of that shit. Who even wants a goddamn redemption arc for him? I wouldn't even be surprised if Bryce killed himself tbh.
So, I guess we all know that now they are sympathetic with Bryce and they are pushing us toward that! FFS!!!
I am going to stop watching the entire show! Peace out!
So after having watched two episodes of season 3 now I think it's quite good. Okay, the new girl feels kind of weird but I guess they needed a new narrator and so they had to add a new character. Not so into that but let's see where it goes.
I don't think Ani is narrating the story, she's telling it to someone. The question is to who, because she's spilling a lot of information.
Really, she meets Chloe probably for the first time and she said "did you tell him about your pregnancy?" Who the f*ck is this girl and why is she like the main character now?
Literally nobody asked for that... She is really annoying thinking she is so smartass.

They're really going to have Ani talking to Bryce like that? I guess it takes balls for them to go down that route but still, it feels like a betrayal to Clay.
Hannah, come back to life so we can be spared this Bryce story line and New Girl shenanigans.
