Miriam somehow was in that room much faster than Matthew was in the library. Presumably. At least that's how they present it.
Take a moment to take in those locations once more.
Sept-Tours... a castle. The bed he makes up for her, from the glimpse that I caught first, looked like any king's or queen's bed from a few centuries ago.
And just look at Queen Mother her lounging in her couch (I am sure that is not even the adequate word for it, but the words are currently failing me... chaiselongue, perhaps?), just sitting oh so utterly still, like the millennia old death she is. This whole show is just so aesthetically pleasing, my heart is bleeding.

Somehow I feel like Matthew left on purpose because he knew that she would end up using her powers again. Maybe she gains more control over her powers the more she involuntary uses them, and that's exactly what he wants.
