8.5/10. The Ice King is such a well-fleshed out character at this point, with dependable traits, that it's great to just let him loose with FInn and Jake by his side. The kidnapping of Gunter, and the mystery as to who took him, were great story engines, and it was an episode full of creative little set pieces. The fox crown hunt was a wonderful visual sequence; Jake's stretching powers were used particularly creatively this episode. Plus using Ice King's nose as a compass was an inspired idea.

And Ice King's devotion, from interrogating the familiar fox to walking over hot coals to get Gunther back was sweet in that pathetic but endearing Ice King way. Plus there's a good amount of intrigue around what the individual who purloined his crown did to it, and why she wanted it in the first place. All-in-all, it was a rollicking adventure with a number of inventive sequences, a solid emotional throughline with Ice King's devotion to Gunther, and a neat mystery as well. Quality Adventure Time!
