[7.2/10] Perfectly good episode that balances some character development with some plot development. I like the notion of the candy elemental powers being something that frustrates Princess Bubblegum because she's used to employing science, not magic, to protect her people and get the job done. The resolution -- that she "walks in her own shoes" by using her scientific knowledge to guide her candy powers -- is a neat trick that shows some growth for the character. Her use of the candy powers was well-animated, and her jealousy and elaborate means to impress Slime Princess were amusing.
The same goes for her journeys into some other realm to be tutored, Yoda-style, by the older candy elemental. The training was a little on the nose at time, but it's interesting to see PB frustrated and having to solve this problem without her usual tools. I don't know what the Crystal Entity or the cryptic wall of pictures on you-know-who's wall means, but it works as another brick in the wall.
