[7.3/10] Not much to this one, but still entertaining. The rejiggered slime kingdom doesn’t seem to have the same emotional talisman that the other kingdoms do, unless the “emotion” is desire to party or something? Either way, it’s still fun enough to see our heroes engaging in roller skate dance contests like a sideways version of You Got Served, and I got a big kick out of Jake once again joining the local chant despite it being for something against his interests (in this instance “skate to assimilate.”)
On the other hand, there’s something pathos-ridden about Finn losing Jake to slime princess’s absorption. Given the premise of the show, we can be reasonably sure that he’ll be saved, but still, it’s tough for Finn to have to be apart from Jake. LSP is an amusing presence, with her devotion to a “plucky underdog story” saving the day, and they grab the slime jewel to help Betty (who seems particularly unhinged). Overall, more of a lark than a propulsive episode like some of the others in the mini-series, but still entertaining and the right kind of weird.
