Excellent parallel between Kovacs' torture and Ortega's family reunion. Both show how technology is utilized in the staples of our lives (an interrogation in Kovacs' case and a holiday celebration in Ortega's). Both also has similar theme of treading between life and death.

Kovacs' torture sequence can be done a bit better (especially the "going to next screen" moment, as it seems to be a bit rushed) but it does the job well enough. The most interesting part in this episode for me is Ortega's family reunion, tackling back the question asked since the first episode, "if you can prolong life by simply changing your bodies, would you still do it?" Also, grandma resleeving in a muscular white punk is just too funny. Props to the actor.

I've always put people's minds above their bodies, talked about the future essentially being genderless because anyone will be able to just adjust their body parts at will, whether it's through robotic parts or VR.
So I'm glad that there's finally a series that explores these subjects.

It's one a.m. and I'm still watching this show. I am really impressed.

Takeshi going all out at the end was the best way to finish this episode. Mad props to the show because it's getting better with every episode imo.

There are so many great lines in this show, just from this episode: "You aren't trapped. You're waiting." and "When did the world get so complicated? - When god put people in it."
But honestly the best part is Takeshi going fucking postal, as usual. I re-watched the scene just to be sure, and yep, he pretty much RD's all of them. Good god.

That end scene.... Damn, so raw and emotional. I am hooked now.

The virtual interrogation program is awful but at the same time impressive. I loved the part with the re-sleeving and family reunion.

It was really a good episode, I like the acting and parallel shooting between the two scenes. I am very keen to keep watching it, good work Netflix.

The way they celebrate the holiday in this universe using the new technology is both scary and beautiful.

All the training scenes reminded me a little bit of Mortal Kombat (1995) how Liu Kang would get tips from Katana during battle.
Also, I wanted them to kiss, and then what do you know.. ;-)
