5x01 Checking In

Miles ahead of Freak Show imo, let's hope it doesn't go down hill from here.

The premiere hinted at a return to the best parts of the first season.

Actually it was surprisingly pretty good! Very familiar to the first season, but soundtrack is far better and the plot is more organized.

Matt Bomer and Lady Gaga are the hottest part of this

Blood, Gaga and lots of sex scenes! Everything is going the way I wanted it to be!

I have to say: I'm not a fan. Tried AHS the first time it came by, tried again with its sophomore season and even saw some of Coven... But all of the times something just seemed off.
When I heard about this new one, I thought to myself: why not? The hotel thing seems cool (The Shining nostalgia, maybe?) and well, curiosity got me for Lady Gaga's here.

Reaching the end of this first check-in, some things keep happening since the first season, one being (and I always say this) the amazing intro. Every time, they do it splendidly. The second, the constant spinning of plates when it comes to great shots and useless ones.
Also, shouldn't forget to point out: nice job with the soundtrack. That made the whole episode more interesting.

I'll probably come back, albeit not like a hardcore fan would. But as I look back, I can see that my relationship with AHS is close to being able to checkout anytime I want, but never actually leave.

I'm with those who are saying it's better than Freakshow, but I'm not sure about the rest of it yet. Interested to see where it's headed. Not too fond of the ultra-violent scenes, I think subtlety works better, but at the same time I think I'm going to keep watching. I've watched every other season so...

I'm very conflicted. the sexual scene are a bit much and gross tbh maybe I'll watch next episode then decide!

Terrible. Messy, aimless, chocked full of badly executed horror cliches and terrible acting throughout. Looks like we got another Freak Show on our hands here...

Loved it. It almost felt like those campy 90's horror TV shows like Outer Limits or Tales from the Crypt. Well, the 90's versions of the originals :)

We may be for a very fun and interesting ride this season!

Eh. Incredibly cheesy and poorly acted scenes coupled with great ones. Max Greenfield was amazing here (that guy deserves way more recognition). Sarah Paulson's character is probably the most cliché and lame character in the history of the show. I loved the ending with Hotel California; it looks like this season is based on that song. Anyway, idk if I'll keep watching or not. I hate Gaga so she's definitely not a catch for me.

didn't really care for it, worst season opener. not really all that engaging, the acting was fairly week. I like the set of the hotel. going to keep watching to see if they pick it up, love the additions to the cast. we will see if there is decent depth and development at a proper speed like in prior seasons.

Already prefer it to the disaster that was freak show.
