Quality bar is set very high. One of the best, no, screw that. This was easily the best episode of the Arrow. Time travel story line is kinda hit and miss because it's really hard to pull off coherently, let's hope writers will be up to the task...Stunt work in this ep was impeccable, acting wise Oliver/Felicity scene in prison was done nicely,I liked the side story line of Oliver's cell neighbor, will be interesting to see where that goes.
Season 7. Amazing! The premiere was so badass I can hardly contain my excitement. All you have to do to get me nostalgic is having a Green Arrow saying "You have failed this city" and crossing names out of a list.
I was so looking forward to this episode. In fact, I was dying for the season to start. At first I thought there was no way to go with Oliver being in prison but it delivered. The shower fighting scene was absolutely outstanding. This prison Oliver is the best Oliver I've seen in years. Stephen Amell is unveliably good. Damn, you could feel the rage in his eyes when he kicked those guy's assess. Besides, you can see the toll that everything has on him.
I loved this new subplot of Ollie's prison friend. I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes. I hate it's always the same the bad guy has guys inside to torture the good guy, but that's what it is.
The only part I didn't like was the whole Diaz stuff. Seriously, when I heard Richard Dragon was coming last year I got too hyped. Then, it was an utter disappointment. He doesn't even seem menacing at all. And having him surviving the season finale was a bad idea, to be honest. Am I supposed to expect that he spent the last 5 months looking for William and Felicity? Doesn't he have anything else to do? And when he's on screen, he got his ass kicked out by Felicity herself, who is not well-known for her fighting abilities. And poor William, after everything he's gone through he's gonna need a psychologist to deal with everything.
I loved the team's new dynamic. Getting sell of them separated seems a fairly good idea. U love how each one of them lives in their own world but get to still work together and help each other. Dinah and Rene are the two most interesting characters. Curtis is just there and if he hadn't appeared, I wouldn't have even noticed. While I love Diggle, I don't care as much as I did for him anymore.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of Black Siren posing as Laurel. I hope Katie Kassidy keeps on playing the character the way she's been doing for the past few years.
The flash-forwards got me hyped. I'm so damn glad Roy is back again. I don't care in which state, I just need him back. I can wait to see how they deal with the flash-forwards this season.
I was enjoying Felicity's subplot until she came and said something about fighting back to protecther family while sending William to a boarding school. Maybe it's just me, but if that were my son, I would never send him away. I'd always keep him by my side no matter what. Leaving him with some unarmed guys doesn't seem like the best option for me, especially when you know someone is willing to kill him.
Either way, promising opener and exciting action. I can't wait to see if this darker Arrow is just a mirage original it's here to stay.
The code that Felicity fixes in the coffee shop is from an assignment handed out by the University of Texas https://www.cs.utexas.edu/~scottm/cs307/javacode/codeSamples/AirlineProblem.java
The IDE used in the show was CODE COMPILER V2.05 and despite the apparent 496 errors and 243 warnings present in this school assignment, Felicity was able to fix all of them within about 2 seconds
Barry was in Jail last year, this year Oliver. Next year, Kara lol.
I am not a Felicity fan but can root for her when it comes to Diaz. I wish Diaz died last year.
Again we get to see all the good guys beaten and cowed. The only one with any life left in him was Mad Dog and I've disliked him from the get go. Oliver is still stuck in prison. A federal superMax that's run like a crappy state prison in Florida. It disgusts me.
On a lighter and better note, Roy is back. I'm still assuming that the new Green Vigilante is Roy. He moves like they had Roy move. He's copying season 1 Oliver and Roy is familiar with "The Hood".
The most interesting thing was the flash forward. Instead of the standard 5 year flashback I think we are getting a 5 years flash forward. The only part I'm guessing on is the 5 year part. Based on how both William and Roy looked on the island it's close.
Glad to see that the showrunner change actually meant something to the show.
in other news, Stephen just posted the #Elseworlds poster and I am SHOOK to the core.
What the hell was the ending about?
Holy... actually a good episode, I can't believe it.
Bonus points for Oliver reading The Count of Monte Cristo. Though I'm not entirely sure the analogy works.
It’s obviously William! If the season is as good as this episode we are in for a treat!
Feels like the show is attempting to go back to basics.
Can't really say anything bad to this Pilot, easily one of the best and my personal favorite, and Felicity looks stunning wow I love this new look on her!
I'm not even sure what to rate this episode. It was good until Diaz appeared and it felt like the mediocre season 6 again, followed by more scenes of William and Felicity, their talks about school and so forth. Diaz has been the most boring villain in the series until the origin episode, which was one of the best of its season, but then it was back to the same old guy with no abilities or anything unique about him except for that origin story. I don't see this season getting better until he's completely out of the picture, which seems unlikely.
I'm watching this show after such a longtime. This new look suits Oliver and this Inmate 4587 thing is really good.Would love to see more of it.

Didn't really know where the season would go after Oliver turned himself in last year.
But NOW WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH TIMETRAVEL
