My first impression is that it's definitely very rough around the edges, but I think it has potential. Pilots are hardly ever good (in my opinion), and it takes at least 3 or 5 episodes for a show to find its footing, so I will keep watching and see where it goes.
That batsuit was horrible, really awful!
It wasn't as bad as I was afraid it would be nor was it as good as I hoped. Part of the issue is dimensions. Ruby Rose is so svelte. I don't have an issue with White Canary because the actress is really physical. She was a gymnast and martial artist. She can really do the salmon ladder.
Well, the pilot wasn't terrible; definitely better than the YouTube teaser. Don't know if the show will need the Arrowverse in order to take hold (or not). Time and "Crisis" will tell...
I'll be the first to admit I went into this with a lot of pre-conceptions. I didn't like the casting choice and her appearance in the crossover did nothing to dissuade that. But a friend talked me into giving this a shot.
And honestly? It wasn't as bad as I thought. There seems to have been some acting improvements by the time of this pilot. The fight choreography was pretty decent and the plot/dialogue was better than some of the other arrow verse shows.
I'm really loving Rachel Skarsten on my screen again, especially as a villain. I'm so glad she didn't turn out to be a one episode deal!
I have made peace with the fact that I won't get the Kate Kane I know from the comics but I'm now open to seeing where this show takes the character.
Honestly, not as bad as expected. Was is amazing? No. Awful? No. Hopefully will pick up a little as the season goes on, but as for the superhero shows on CW, this is definitely not the worst. However, my favourite is Legends of tomorrow, so I should probably shut up.
Fair start. It's hard not to compare it to Titans as I feel there are many similarities beyond the starting point, like the mixed reviews they received from teasers and all the preemptive hate as early as casting announcements...
I have the same initial problem with Kate that I had with Dick: not enough charisma for a lead. Thankfully Titans had Rachel, Gar and eventually others. Hopefully the side characters here will get their fair share of the spotlight and maybe even Kate can grow.
Seems like the pilot takes place earlier than last year's Crisis, so there's either going to be a time jump, or they're going to need to move quickly to catch up before this year's Crisis.
So worse.I was confused wether to laugh or not in the climax.Weird story
This script is trying to jam about three hours worth of characterization and plot development into a 45-minute TV episode via a combination of miraculously simple puzzles and astounding leaps of deductive logic. There's desperate pandering to girl power and diversity and the awful soundtrack and the disrespect for the source material, in addition to an unlikeable main character.
The show is basic and haphazard, making it hard to determine the essential elements of plot mechanics and character development. Everything about this show feels rushed and amateurish and dumb.
It's just a terrible show with every facet of its production feeling like it's been done before and done far better. The dialogue is so simplistic and clunky that it felt like fanfiction written by an adolescent girl with no understanding of the comic book universe or writing in general.
Ruby Rose looks striking and different, but she can't convey a range of emotions like she's supposed to. She can do cocky and self-confident, but she comes across as confused when she tries to look concerned. When she tries to look angry, she looks like a kid that's been told they can't have a flake in their ice cream, and the result is a protagonist who looks like she doesn't give a crap about anything, and as a result, she doesn't motivate the viewer to give a crap about her. The rest of the characters are all dumb over-the-top stereotypes who think and behave in ways that no natural person ever would.
In terms of plot, there's nothing remotely clever or different or unexpected going on here. It's a mix of family drama, romance, and a superhero wrestling with their alter ego. If you don't see the final twist coming within the first five minutes, then you're most likely a character in this show. It doesn't help that the episode is bookended by an obnoxious voiceover from Ruby Rose telling us what's going on as if this is all some diabolically complex mystery that we can't possibly wrap our heads around without her help.
...and how the hell did she learn to use Batman's weapons and equipment with absolutely no training or preparation?
So Grey’s Anatomy is canon on the Arrowverse, that’s interesting...
My first impression is that it's definitely very rough around the edges, but I think it has potential. Pilots are hardly ever good (in my opinion), and it takes at least 3 or 5 episodes for a show to find its footing, so I will keep watching and see where it goes.
Hi hello hi hello hi hello
It wasn't too bad. Cannot say I'm a big fan of Ruby however. I got a strong sense of deja vu watching the part where she found the bat cave.
Kate's sexist remark on the batsuit aside, it was a decent episode!
Good god what a load of bollocks, removed from my watch list, SWERVE THIS AT ALL COSTS!!!!
Was a lot better than expected, yep Cape was a bit dodgy but was one those shows where I felt could bond with the characters quickly.
Decent storyline and enjoy where it starts off and really felt the connection from the back of Gotham.. Will keep watching and hope attracts a decent audience. 9/10 from me.
Every superhero movie should just start hiring Blake Neely; he's the only composer currently working in that space that's even close to making music iconic enough to be worthy of the iconic scores John Williams and Danny Elfman made for the original DC movies back in the day.
What was this? I'm so confused.. It just leans on the idea of the character. It does nothing. An empty episode with no relational sense. And a bit tired of these platforms for feminism. All respect for women, but not this forced BS. I hardly ever give below 6's, but please just give this up and stop abusing comics for cash grabs, or whatever they we're intending with it.
8 / 10 it is just a pilot episode (this show could have potential.).. it's not too bad. decent shots and good choreography. I really hope the narration stops soon it is kind of off putting ...But I personally am interested in the the direction they are taking. some cool villains down the line could be;
Doctor Phosphorus, Reaper, Enchantress, Doctor Mist, Blue Moon, and Terminus.
I love Ruby Rose and I like this show a lot so far. This episode was fast-pased and interesting, exactly how I like it.
Ruby Rose is that girl Piper toyed around with in Orange Black.... Interesting. I guess she has a kind of Dragon Tattoo girl look.
how can i watch the episode ???
