If only there was someone that had experience in rebuilding faces that could be motivated to help Kate out...
If that actually happens it'll look like it was all planned out from the start of the show, which would be funny as well as proof that the writers here know a thing or two, even if I thought they were dropping the ball with how meh S1 Kate was - also, very good on them for calling out how Kate kept making up excuses for letting Alice get away.
It's to the point I'm cheering for Alice as the hero of the show and I didn't think I was supposed to be.
I didn't mind a bit more grieving, though this is the third time this season (or was it the fourth?)
What I think I do mind is Kate lying disfigured in a dirt floored dungeon cell, for how that kind of spits in the face of those of us who've felt this grief.
It kind of smacks of cheaper TV stories that manipulate the viewers' emotions and then end by making it all a dream sequence that never really happened.
I'll stick around because everything else is still working for me, but, I gotta ask: WTF?!
BTW, I think Black Mask is that Pharma CEO, which, if so, also cheapens the plot -- 'cuz the evils committed by big Pharma deserve to be told, and the reality of those tales is much worse than some king pin caricature. IE: unscrupulous drug trials without reasonable oversight, poor quality control and robotic mfg processes causing wrong ingredients to be used leading to hundreds of thousands of deaths over the years, the patent process leading to abandonment of more effective drugs simply because they're no longer under patent and medical models bending to the needs of insurers over patients. A Pharma CEO making TWENTY MILLION dollars a year where the main product (the Epi Pen) costs thirty-five dollars to make, but is priced at a thousand dollars for two -- and you have to buy two! (Then hearing that CEO testify that it's not their fault -- that's some f#cked-up isht.)
Here I thought we would put Kate to rest once and for all and I honestly just got confused all over again. It was an interesting choice to bring Enigma on screen though.
Despite the fact that this storyline is only a product of the circumstances in real life, it honestly seems better. Overall, Ryan is a lot more likeable than Kate too. Just upsets me how Alice is essentially left in the sidelines despite being the best character on this show.
Loled at the rushed exposition explanation of Ryan having a desert rose.
Dangerous having a fix-all flower on a show like this though? Where's the danger if you've got an elixer in the batcave. I'm sure they'll find a way to get rid of it soon.
So they're gonna wipe Kate's mind! Always an interesting one
A pretty good episode featuring a well-known villain and more Batwoman badassery, made worse by the misguided "defund the police" narrative and all that goes with it.
How much wood could a Woodchuck chuck if a Woodchuck could chuck wood?

Yeah ok, so Black Mask is the guy that went on camera, like it's difficult to recognize him.
